I've been to this restaurant few times, & they always seem to find a way to disappoint.
First, there's no doubt that the fish is high-quality, especially the ora salmon, although I think it's slightly overpriced. The cocktails & their Bluefin Oro Tuna are a bit underwhelming & overpriced. We've had much better for a bit less elsewhere in the country.
The service is impersonal & unprofessional. Last time, they dropped one of the plates while bringing it to the table. They cleared the table without apologizing (the person who dropped it simply said,'Mistakes happen!') & never brought the plate back. When the server brought the bill, the dish was still on it. I pointed out the situation, & the server said he didn't know it had happened, which shows how they work as a team. I obviously gave an average tip (which was still more than they deserved), & the server looked unhappy & stormed off.View more
Great food & vibe. This is the second time we visit Montreal within a month & we could not pass on opportunity to come here. Highly recommendView more
Absolutely top-tier sushi. Every roll, nigiri, & sashimi was the most elegantly & tastily prepared-so flavorful that no soy sauce was needed. Our waiter was excellent, & multiple staff members helped us throughout the meal. Everyone was incredibly attentive without being intrusive. A standout dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommend.View more
Came here with my fiancé for our last night in Montreal. I wanted to make sure we had good seafood, & the reviews & photos looked really good, so we ordered the 12 pc fresh sashimi & the 24 piece dry-aged sashimi as well.
The food was fine: the texture was nice & there was no fishy smell indicating freshness; however, if you're paying $65 to >$100 dollars on sashimi, I think the least the restaurant could do would be to give you real wasabi, not the fake tube stuff rolled into a ball.
Also, for a restaurant at this price point, inventory of the food &/or drinks should have been tracked better. We were told 3 times, certain drinks & even dessert were not available to us.
One last thing, our server was fine until after we ordered our food, which afterwards, was quite dismissive & seemed upset with us when he told us they didn't have the matcha dessert for the night. It was quite off-putting.
If you want really good sushi/sashimi, save the money for a trip to Japan to get the good stuff for a better price.View more

Amazing sushi & service in a cosy beautiful setting. Our server (Eric) was knowledgeable & provided some excellent recommendations. The fish is top notch. Definitely, one of my favorite sushi spots anywhere.View more
It's what I expected from a high-end sushi place. Sushi is decent for price/portion/Quality ratio. Not bad. Great for occasional fancy dates.View more

The best sashimi in Montreal. Went there three times & everything is always so fresh & tastes so good. They also have very nice drinks. It's the place I always recommend to raw fish lovers. We really appreciate the nice & cozy atmosphere too.View more
I don't think I need to say much about Hidden Fish…😂 This is my favourite sushi place in Montreal. The quality here is amazing, it is pretty hard to find a raw-fish restaurant for this freshness in Canada with this price range. The dishes also have uniquely delicious flavours & uncommon but super tasty combinations. The chef just really knows how to surprises his guests. It is definitely a must-try experience if you are a foodie or just simply visiting Montreal.View more

Treated my boyfriend for his birthday, & it exceeded all expectations! Every bite was sooo good. We decided to try to some special tender pieces we hadn't had before, notably o-toro & chutoro, which melted in our mouth & left us speechless with how good they were! Our server was attentionate & knowledgeable, at first we ordered the 30piece sashimi mix but he recommended 12 would be a more appropriate quantity. I appreciate the honesty, & he was right. Another high note is the rolls, chu maki. They're my favourite item because they're complex, but every flavor & texture is justified to form the final fireworks. At the end of the meal, they treated us to a dessert for his birthday. Overall, Hidden Fish is a really great spot. It was expensive, but I was extremely happy with our experience.View more
