Service was good. Bagels were really good. I really liked the BLT sandwich with the all-dressed bagel. Otherwise, worst part about this place is the stupid fact they don't take credit cards... I'm removing a star for that until they change that because of all the hundreds of restos & food shops I've been to in mtl over years I've never seen a big name place not have credit card payments. It's ridiculous.
This place is viral on social media, so be prepared to wait 20 minutes in the line. Bagels are very delicious, it's worth to try. However, there are other St-Viateur Bagel stores around the city where you can simply buy a regular bagel, if you don't want to wait for bagel sandwich.
Amazing deli bagel sandwich! Amazing bagels, & amazing service!!! Keep Eric at all costs, best service I got in all of Montreal!!! Thank you 😀
I ordered the Traditional bagel sandwich & it was so good! Staff were really friendly & accommodating. I would love to come back & try the other sandwiches ♥️ Please note that this is an extremely busy place so prepare to line up!
Amazing bagel. I love the bagel here the most. However, service & cleanliness that what deduct the overall rating. HOWEVER, do visit. I came here everytime I visit Montréal (which is very often. I tried all the bagel with all spread, well not gonna lie, all of them are good. Heads-up with the size of each sandwich, quite big. I hope this place has a better selection of drinks. Maybe a milkshake, fresh juice or better selection of coffee.
We've been at the restaurant a few times now, & it was time for us to return to have another bagel sandwich. Actually, what made us go & visit was the publicity on the new bagel that was being sold without the hole in the middle there was a lot of controversy around it, & we wanted to go & give it a try for ourselves. Funny enough it does cook way differently as The texture is soft throughout. It's no longer a bagel with crispyness all around it's actually really soft & should not even be considered a bagel really. Anyway, we had our bagel sandwiches. We tried the new' bagel' & it was a fun time out. Where: St-Viateur Bagel & Café, Plateau Montreal What: A café & bagel place How was it: Service is average & a little confusing at times. The delicious St-Viateur bagel is what saves this place. No Bagel = no discovering destinations to come & eat. But seriously, if you are not in the mood to go out to a restaurant - you can simply buy the bagels & stay in. Grade: Eli = 4, Serge = 4- Recommend : The Bagels saves this place !
The Cafe usually has a bit of wait depending on the weather .. you can sit outside which is nice. Bagels are great & they make sandwiches too. Had the Smoked Meat & one more but honestly if you go to Montreal just grab Smoked Meat from Schwartz's or Dunn's or even Smoked Meat Pete right outside of Montreal. Bagels were fine & a little pricey to be honest .. sandwiches about $15 I prefer the non cafe locations where I can grab bagels & spreads & be on my way but if you're sitting down & having a nice time it's a good visit with delicious bagels
J'ai adoré mon repas, mon seul regret est qu'il n'y avait pas de soupe pour accompagner les sandwichs
It was a good experience, but I totally think it was over hyped. The bagel was bland, & had no taste. The sandwiches lacked seasoning, & probably the best thing was the fig & cheese sandwich. I wouldn't try it again. It was good to see it & experience it, but I don't think I would go for it again if I would like a satisfying bite.
Stopped in around 11 this morning. I was on my own & had luggage, which I was able to store by the coat rack which was nice. They have eat-in or take out, two separate lines. You're shown which table to sit at when you're in line, as it is counter style ordering. I ordered the smoked meat bagel sandwich & added some veggies which were free, to my surprise. Caramel latte was practically perfect. Staff were friendly, energetic, & the owner or general manager was on-site helping with the flow, as it was quite busy. I ordered a six pack of bagels to go after my meal, a mixture of flavours & was given both a paper bag & a plastic bag (appreciated since I am traveling). I even asked for a small sticker on my way out, & the staff were more than willing to give me a few. Would definitely recommend St. Viateur!! The only comment I have is to beware of the hours, as the "kitchen" hours are when they start & stop all sandwiches & meals (6pm).
The bagel sandwiches were delicious! A must visit place in the city. Highly recommended.
If you're craving a bagel experience that's like a cream cheese avalanche, this place has you covered! Seriously, the amount of cream cheese on their sandwiches could build a second bagel tower. But hey, if you're into that kind of thing, go for it! Just be prepared to wait longer than it takes to watch a Lord of the Rings marathon. I mean, I'm pretty sure Frodo could've destroyed the One Ring twice in the time it takes to get your order here. On a more serious note, their bagels are fresh, I just didn't appreciate that I got a bitter aftertaste of burnt onion/garlic on my bagel but overall fine!
- Must try if you're in Montreal - Shocked that a touristic place won't take international credit cards, terrible idea - Bagel sandwiches are good - Manager (we think) was super rude, shouting & moving people around. Be prepared to be yelled at & wait long lines on busy weekends.
showed up midday & had 3-4 groups ahead of us. the wait went by quickly though, & was well worth it! had sandwiches on the rosemary & salt bagels with pesto & mayo, which was very very good. the seating is a bit crowded & hectic inside as someone new is getting seated every 2-3 minutes. clearly a well-oiled machine, very efficient & great taste!
For once, no line up!
A bit hard to eat (not even cut) but the taste was pretty good. Just impossible to eat on the go without making a complete mess of the sandwich & myself!
Fresh bagels were awesome, especially with the spreads they sell in the to-go store. The wait for the to-go store was also pretty short, less than 10 minutes. Surprisingly, though, no to-go sandwiches & the line to grab a seat was like 90+ minutes.
Since I was in Montreal, I had to go to this place & this place didn't let me down at all. Incredible big sandwich Bagels! I ordered the Poulet St-Viateur, Breakfast Sandwich & Le "Joe Bagel" along with their fresh orange juice! Lovely place, the food was amazing & the staff were very humble & friendly!
