Eggplant sandwich was a bit too strong & the other sandwiches were mediocre. It's pretty busy & CASH only.
Bon bagel frais qui réconforte mon craving hebdomadaire. Bonne variété de sandwichs qui donne tous envie!
If you are just getting a bagel & not the sandwich, you don't need to line up. The classic sesame bagel with cream cheese was great. The maple bagel was pretty mid. Worth grabbing a bagel from if you're in the area, not worth lining up 1 hour for a bagel sandwich.
So there's a lot of good things about this place. The service is really good, quick moving lines & very efficient. They do two different line ups for people purchasing sandwiches & those that are getting just a bag of bagels which manages time really well. We got the traditional bagels, all seasoned with smoked salmon & cream cheese & the "Joe Bagel" with ricotta & fig jam on a rosemary & sea salt bagel. The Joe Bagel was really different, the ricotta was light & creamy albeit a little messy to eat. The traditional was good too but lacked a flavour punch. It is also a pet peeve of mine when a bagel isn't cut down the centre & these weren't! Overall, I would say the vibes are definitely there. Is it worth waiting about 30 minutes in line for moderately good bagels? I would say it's subject to personal preference but if we are on the matter of amazing traditional bagels I would highly recommend Cafe Felice that uses St Viateur sesame bagels but have a ton more flavour.
We went out of our way to get these bagels on our last day in Montreal. We ordered 4 sandwiches for takeout. The breakfast sandwiches were supposed to substitute the meat for cream cheese. Both were missing this & just came with dry bagels instead & the fried eggs had no seasoning. The bagels overall were tough & chewy even though we ate them within half hour of purchasing them. Not worth the hype or the lineup outside.
Cash only bagel place with lots of options & English service/menus. Sandwich was really good. To note, it's not really a cafe where you can sit & enjoy a coffee. It has seating but they are turning the tables quick!
Great bagel sandwiches. One star off for being cash only despite being a large, busy cafe
AMAZING bagels 💜🥯☕️ absolutely worth the wait! The line moves quickly & theres indoor & outdoor seating; you can also get takeaway & eat on the street thats closed to traffic in the summer. Id recommend the salmon spread instead of cream cheese, & be sure to take away a few bagels on your way out! No gf options but they do have vegan cream cheese & sandwich options.
The traditional sandwich is tasteless. Of all the places I've had a bagel lox this is by far the worst. I came here expecting a wow & aside from maybe picking up some fresh bagels I'd never eat their version of a sandwich again.
Amazing experience, great food & great service. Went on a Sunday & had to wait 30 minutes to get in but it was worth it. The bagels are amazing & having them on a sandwich was very good. There was a much shorter line if you wanted just a plain bagel. Once we got into the store & ordered it didn't take long to get our food. It was really cool to see them making all the bagels in the oven & cutting up the dough.
Great sandwiches & the service was fast. Love the atmosphere & would definitely go back. We tried the breakfast sandwich & the one with the jam.
Sandwiches were fine but not necessarily to die for. I would try just the bagels next time.

Lovely atmosphere, tasty bagel! What more can you ask for? The texture of the bagels here, & generally in Montreal, is very different from what we have in Toronto, & I love it here. We ordered the traditional bagel with smoked salmon & cream cheese, as well as the all seeds bagel & rosemary & sea salt bagel. Update: We visited here again after our delightful first experience & tried out different bagel sandwiches this time. We also bought some bagels to take home. We ordered the Le Steak, Wow!, & Le Joe Bagel. All were very delicious, with the Le Steak being our favorite.
The system is organised & efficient. Highly recommend the smoked meat & roast beef bagel sandwich. Staff are accommodating & friendly.
We had bagel sandwiches at their outdoor tables. I get great bagels at home & these were different in that they are thinner & have larger holes, but they were very good quality with the appropriate bagel density (not bready). My wife & son both had smoked salmon with chive cream cheese & I had the smoked meat, a Canadian specialty. The staff were friendly & helpful & kept things from becoming chaotic.
There was a very long line to get a table but it was worth the wait. Delicious & fresh bagel sandwiches
Saw this place on Somebody Feed Phil (although I think that was a different location) & it did not disappoint. We preferred this to the other legendary Montreal bagel we tried. They have lots of different sandwiches to pick from, & their coffee is pretty solid as well. They also have cool merch. They don't accept cards, but accept both Canadian & US cash.
This place may have been an institution, but it's way past its heyday. Today it's overrated & doesn't deserve the hype it's garnered. The bagel itself is fine but all the sandwiches are lacking. Take the traditional for instance: the lox is barely super market quality, tomatoes are old & mealy, & theirs no sense of craft or proportions of the ingredients. Skip this place & find your bagels elsewhere.
