Great spot on Thursdays & Sundays to listen to live music in a casual setting, while eating smoke meat & drinking beer. Very friendly ambiance. The Blues band plays from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm (please check hours).
Don't believe the hype !! The quality of the meals & the abilities of the staff have definitely been dropping recently. The prices were more reasonable.. they are now charging more.. While having live music is potentially wonderful.. For some reason the much more talented musicians no longer seem to play here. I think this restaurant is riding on its reputation & that reputation is no longer deserved. My last visit in July had myself & a friend waiting 30 minutes on a quiet day for very dry tasteless chicken. Both the food & the service was totally unacceptable. I have always enjoyed the atmosphere but the food & the service are no longer interesting.
Such a friendly place to spend a good time. The meat is so succulent. I tried the smoke meat, brisket, & ribs. & it was all amazing. It's especially nice when they have live music.
Hit & miss....but when the smoke meat is not dry, it is fabulous. Live music in the evening that is great, but not great if you want to hear your date.
This was Montréal to me. A chill atmosphere with great live rock & roll music, delicious cold beer, savory ribs & smoked meat & fun people of all ages rocking out. I was so happy my friends took me here as I was transported back in time to the band's energetic renditions of the Stones & incredible bands of that era

Had higher hopes for the smoked meat sandwich. Heard they have won awards around North America so expected good things. The sandwich was average in my opinion as the size was small for the price ($18.99 for sandwich & fries). I compared it to my local favorite & this scored it "okay". The fries were good but their gravy is to be desired as it had a sweet taste to it. They have a stage for live music which would score a higher atmosphere score during a set I would assume. This is just one man's review, give it a try yourself as it is quite a known place.
I really liked this cool spot! It's super cozy & has a great vibe with yummy food. My friend recommended their smoked meat, but honestly, there's a bunch of other tasty stuff on the menu too. We tried the smoked meat sandwich with awesome fries - so good! Even though the cashier goofed up the bill a bit, it's all good. They've got a bunch of sauces to choose from to take home, which is neat. The sandwich itself was delish, with lean meat & not too much fat. There's plenty of parking & I can't wait to check out the live music next time. Definitely recommend this spot!
I think of Pete's smoked meat like a biker hangout without the ruckess of the bikers. The food is good quality, the atmosphere is loud with either blues or rock music being pumped through a concert audio system. It's gained its notoriety from being consistent. It hasn't changed (apart from more seating) in 10 years
Must do the line up to order, then go to your table & they will bring your food by saying your name.Food was excellent. My son & I shared a Special Pete, smoke meat sandwich with fries, coselaw & a Cott Cherry Coke. Music was a bit load(not live). I will go back for live Blues Band for sure. Asked for gravy but it was 5$ for a small cup so we decided to pass, I guess whatever little extra the kitchen must do is a big bother so they are trying to discourage you. They serve a little cup of ribs while in the line to order.
I can't begin to explain how much we enjoyed the food, atmosphere, good cheer. I'm a fussy eater, & I like to eat quietly. But when a good friend offered to treat me to Smoke Meat Pete, I had no idea, & the videos & pix show the wonderful experience. Too bad the crowds left before the music ended. We had a 90 minute drive home, so we couldn't stay, but I hope to come back during old car cruise in come spring! Thank you Pete!!!
Hands down the best smoked meat in Montreal !! Great ambience with love music too ! This is a must visit when I have friends or family from out of town
I love smoked meat & Pete's makes some of the best you can get! I haven't tried their other menu items, but have never been let down by the smoked meat sandwiches. I also enjoy the vibe & music they've made part of the experience. My one BIG complaint is the system they have for ordering & getting your food. For some reason, you have to wait in line to order at the counter, pay, & THEN hope you can find a table. That's a tall order as this place is often busy. This means you often have to stand in line for quite a while before ordering, instead of just comfortably sitting at a table & have someone come to take your order LIKE EVERY OTHER RESTAURANT ON EARTH! So you stand in line (why?) & after ordering & paying there is no guarantee that you'll even find a table to sit at. Then, with music blaring, the wait staff wanders around the restaurant holding your plates, yelling your name hoping you might hear & waive them down. I find this really takes away from the overall experience. Just do it like every other restaurant. It works.
It's complicated! You walk in not knowing how the place works at all ....No one greats you or tells you you just need to line up & pre-order your very overpriced plate of food .The screens that have their menus on change so fast you can't get a grasp of what they actually have Yes, it's a BBQ place, but I'm still confused as to what we ordered weeks later . You pay & then try to get a table before they bring out your food .VERY SMALL SPACE will not a lot of seating ! This gave me anxiety big time .We found a seat as the rule of thumb of this place is the food comes out fast & you eat it super fast & get the hell out ! It wasn't a relaxing or nice experience at all .The food isn't great...not BBQ at all .A random dry weiner on a small plate comes out first ... your extra large meat plater comes out & nothing about it Is EXTRA OR LARGE LOL dry meat ,ok chicken & very dry bread ro was down the load of money you just lit on fire . I would literally call this place all smoke in mirrors...Outside is super cool, but the inside is super stressful with blaring loud music spilling through a hug speaker 🔊 Maybe the Live music they have later on makes up for everything else
