Smoke meat is good, delicious & plenty. There was a band playing blues music, they were great. The blonde lady behind the counter(not sure if she is an owner or manager) was so friendly. Smoke Meat Pete is a great place to stop for Smoke meat sandwiches & poutine. Also has Smoke meat in spaghetti.
Too loud..music can't hear im talking too...the portion of fries not enough. Sandwiches too small..Moe's in Pte Claire much better..plus it's smoke meat Pete too expensive for what they give you...not a fan. Sorry
After a long drive to Kingston, ON & back, my son & I decided to stop & try Smoke Meat Pete for the first time. We were lucky to find parking in front of the restaurant as I am 68 years old & have 2 bad knees, & a gentlemen outside was nice enough to direct us to the spot. We proceeded to go into the restaurant & while we were waiting in line, a rude elderly lady holding a Starbucks cup yelled loud enough for the entire restaurant to hear'can the blue BMW please move, you're blocking the front door'? So I went out with my son to see which door we were'blocking' but we were 6 feet away from the side of the door. We went back in & informed the lady that we were not blocking anything, & she doubled down. We asked why there is no'no parking' or'reserved' sign saying parking is not permitted there, & she said the establishment is a family-owned business. What does that have to do with anything? It must have been her spot ha ha! She said there are lots of handicapped customers, which I completely understand as I have very bad knees but the handicapped ramp was even further away on the other side of a railing & leading to the another door, completely unobstructed. She told us to park in the parking lot across the street for a different establishment. Again this must have been her spot & ahe wanted it back lol...
If she asked nicely, I would have moved to a different spot just to be nice, but we left the rude lady & we will NEVER be back as a potential new customers...
We had our dinner today at Smoke Meat Pete Barbecue restaurant. Located at eastbound Auto-20 highway just before you drive into Montréal Island. The restaurant gives a vibe of Texas-style country side with rustic decorations, red lightening ambience, great live blues music & amazing ViandeFumée we ordered. We selected Le Spécial jumbo de Pete (picture & video attached). It took a while for them to prepare, however it was worth waiting. The smoked meat sandwich was super delicious 😋, even the fries were crispy. On the side we had a coke. To be honest, it was super heavy & the price was reasonable (31$ per person). They had ample sitting arrangement inside the restaurant, indoor & outdoor patio places. Overall we loved the environment of the restaurant & the staffs were courteous. Merci Beaucoup.
J'y suis allé la journée de la fête de la Saint Jean. File d'attente, c'est normal. Le processus de commande est un peu déroutant. On fait la ligne jusqu'au comptoir de commandes, on passe notre commande, on donne notre nom & on va s'asseoir où il y a une place. Pas très longtemps après on crie votre nom & la serveuse vous apporte ce que vous avez commandé. Le smoked meat est bon, chaud & servi tel que vous l'avez demandé (gras, semi gras, maigre ou très maigre). Les frites sont de parfaites'graisseuses' & les condiments de qualité. Comme le dit le nom'Smoke & non Smoked Meat Pete', on ne sert pas seulement du smoked meat mais aussi plusieurs viandes fumées. J'y retournerai pour goûter aux autres viandes fumées.
Smoke Meat Pete is an absolute must-visit for anyone who loves great smoked meat. The food was delicious, packed with flavor, & served in generous portions. You can really tell they take pride in the quality of their food.
The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, & full of character, making it a great place to relax & enjoy a meal. The staff were friendly, attentive, & provided excellent service throughout our visit.
What I appreciated most is that it's the perfect spot for both family gatherings & outings with friends. Whether you're stopping by for a casual lunch or a larger get-together, Smoke Meat Pete offers a fun & comfortable experience for everyone.

Stopped here on a drive into Montreal & the smoked meat did not disappoint. We ordered Pete's special & smoked meat poutine & both were excellent. The meat was flavorful & super tender. The menu & ordering process can be a bit confusing for a first-timer (order at the window, find a table, & the staff will bring out your food), but the staff was helpful & friendly. Would return in a heartbeat.
