SKYBIRD Fresh Asian Grill is a fast-casual restaurant serving bold, Pan-Asian-inspired Bowls and Banh Mis. Crafted with fresh, vibrant ingredients, perfectly oven-grilled proteins, and flavourful signature sauces. At SKYBIRD, every bite is an adventure!
Overall, SKYBIRD Asian Grill is seen as fresh, flavorful and filling, with bowls that are generously portioned and highly customizable through a wide range of sauces and toppings, and a menu that includes halal and vegetarian options; reviewers praise quick, friendly service, clean spaces, and good value for money, with treats like matcha cookies and drinks adding to the experience; the concept of personalizing bowls is celebrated, and many say the bowls stay balanced, though a few note that too much sauce can overwhelm the dish or that some banh mi bread and flavor combinations miss the mark; several customers mention attentive staff and a welcoming vibe, and the restaurant is described as a reliable spot for a healthy, satisfying meal that tends to make visitors want to return.
I came there because I saw a girl I follow on Instagram post about on Instagram, but after seeing the reviews I wanted to say my honest opinion.
Apparently, the Instagrammed girl & her boyfriend went there & got a bowl & a sandwich. After looking at the not-so-cheap prices, I opted for a bowl because it would keep me full for longer.
I was honnestly disappointed with my experience... The bowl was not worth the money in my opinion.. I mean when I eat a bowl or go to a restaurant I look for freshness of ingredients, but the corn & several other ingredients felts like they came from a can or were frozen before hand. So right there a big no-no. They also don't have options like shrimp or sea food that are often found in Vietnamese cuisine & are often found in bowls. It's basically either meat or tofu as options.
I saw that several people in the reviews opted for a delivery, which makes sense because the space is super small & is split with a pizzeria. You heard me right: the location has one counter for sky bird & & another for a pizzeria, no wall or anything in between & one employee to cover both restaurants.
Another thing is, the place is supposed to be a Vietnamese restaurant but the meat is halal, why? At first I thought that I was uneducated, but no upon googling I learned that Vietnam has only 0.1% Muslims which begs the question why the halal meat? I find that it removes from the'authentic experience'
Pretty sure they just paid a bunch of influencers to make videos & leave good reviews.
This restaurant space opened a few years ago -- a good Italian sandwich/pizza place (Pizza Al Taglio) with a bakery cafe section in front. I guess maybe it was two seperate businesses in one enclosed space with a common seating area. Then they shut down, a sign said'closed for renovations' & they shut down for over a year! So I thought it was over. Well they reopened, out of the blue. The pizza place is still there, but the front of the place (where the cafe/bakery was) is now Rio Skybird Asian Grill. A franchise with only one other location: Pierrefonds. Against my better instincts, I ordered a bahn mi sandwich with lemongrass beef. Now if this were the Pierrefonds locations i might be more generous with my reviews. But seeing as were this place is located within steps of multiple legit good Vietnamese bahn mi places, I cannot recommend this sandwich. It didn't taste like anything except artificial lemongrass. The bread was crusty, but the way they heated up in a oven before making the sandwich just made the :whole experience feel Subwayesque. Other points against them: their menu is on flatscreen TVs; no one associated the place is asian.
