Went for my birthday & truly had the best time. We got the cocktail tree, humus & babaganoush & everything was 10/10! We had the absolute sweetest waitress (Pamela), so attentive & helpful. Staff was amazing, food & drinks were delicious & overall atmosphere was great. Strongly recommend!
What a great experience... first of all...Valet parking is really great in montreal :) We were a pretty big group & the seating area where we were was nice ....as soon as i sat down the waiter was already there....i did not have to wait 2 order drinks the service was amazing all thru the night. That was great & i told the waiters all night! The food was not only delicious but the plates looked so good...the Tuna omg ....lamb....the hummus...wow! The kitchen does a really good job Bravo! The staff was just great ! I will go back for sure.
Amazing amazing service! The owner was super nice & accommodating. The food & drinks were amazing. Vibes were amazing for brunch. Must visit when coming to Montreal!!! Highly recommend it!
We arrived early so it was quiet but music would have been nice while we were there. They closed the the walls on the terrace a little early for me. I would have liked to see out a little longer since it wasn't cold. & loved the fire being lit. But wish it was lit sooner.
Service was great. I understand it's a business making money but would have appreciated the person asking about cost before recommending wines & offering flat or sparkling water. We didn't really need a whole bottle of sparkling water. Not everywhere charges for that & she just kept refilling our glass so after we saw the bottle on our table we just assumed we would have to Pay for sparkling water.
Lastly would love more affordable drink options. Would have had more to drink.
I had a GREAT brunch at Shay!
The food was amazing, the drinks delicious & the service impeccable! Special thanks to the hostess for noticing our table request & accommodating it! She assigned us what we felt was the best booth in the house - thank you!

My experience was amazing . My girlfriend has nut allergies but our server Peter made sure to accommodate us !! We are still raving about the drink "Habibi Rita".
The tuna tartare was out of this world ... all this to say I highly recommend & I cannot wait to be back !
Great ambiance! However, the price point is steep & the tastefulness of the meals don't always match. The tuna tartare was delicious, so was the beet salad with labneh. The grilled brocoli were absolutely awful. Every bite was a mouthful of oil. I took it to go cause we couldn't finish it. When I tried to eat it again, i wrung the oil & there was at least 1 teaspoon of oil per brocoli. The chicken in the shish taouk tasted like gas, & the hummus in the hummus & mushroom plate wasnt very tasty & lacked a cream texture. The drinks were just okay - I expected more from the drunken sultan: for 23$, it was a very amateurish drink & the ingredients that should make it a standout such as saffran were not noticeable at all & overtaken by a generic sweet taste. The meal ended up costing 300$ & I dont think it was worth it.
My friends & I reserved a late brunch this past Saturday & were greeted with a warm smile & welcome by Talia. She told me on arrival that she had noted my request to be seated away from the front door, & not close to any serving areas, & said that she had taken the liberty of reserving a lovely booth for us & pointed it out. We were ecstatic as the place was jumping & people were pouring in, & we were a few minutes early. Talia suggested we have a seat at the bar if we'd like a cocktail in the mean time, & we did so. Once at the bar we were told we would get an even better table, a boott at the front window which was just perfect! We even had a little heater blasting hot air as it was frigid still out. Later the manager, Olivier came over to check on us to see if we were happy with everything, the service, the table, the meals? Everything was just spot on! The meal (benedict with lamb & hollandaise) was superb, our drinks were frothy & strong & our dessert of Baklava Pancakes was to die for, ambience just warm without music blaring either, & they happened to play a favorite piece of music of mine :) I normally don't write reviews but everybody was so welcoming & the food well worth it that I couldn't resist. If you're an out of towner, this is just a treat to have such delicious & beautiful food served in your Montreal assiette! Enjoy. You must go, & reserve ahead!
We went out for dinner after many people recommended this place. The food was good but nothing special. It was a cool concept & the drinks were very good & the fried shish taouk was really good.
Food was great but service was terrible. We sat on the terrace & the servers preferred to sit behind the bar talking the entire night. We had to ask numerous times for our drinks to be refilled & we asked 3 times before we got the bill!! It was crazy!
