Visited Shay for a brunch while in Montreal for the weekend from Toronto. Food photos online look unreal, but in real life the food was very meh… we ordered the Shay breakfast sandwhich, bun was not toasted & soggy with heavy mayo & gross iceberg lettuce… made the meal almost inedible… coffee was alright but was charged 10$ for a very small iced vanilla latte. They also charged for hot sauce, without notifying us. I wouldn't recommend skipping this spot, & exploring a different spot … overall disappointing on all fronts

Que de bons mots pour le shay. C'était exquis.... goûteux, riche, différent de ce que j'ai l'habitude de manger dans les brunchs. Je vais revenir à coup sûr. L'endroit est soigné, la musique est bonne, le staff est engagé. Merci pour l'expérience culinaire.

I want to really like this place but it's so overrated! Especially brunch. I requested to replace the waffles in the chicken & waffles plate with eggs. I get 1 egg separately from the plate of chicken, obviously no waffles. When I get the bill, that 1 egg cost me 8$. So my brunch cost 78 $ with tax for my meal & 2 mimosas. Unbelievable!!!! Will never have brunch here again.

Came for brunch today for the first time & the food was delicious. Driss also gave me a very good service & gave good recommendations. The bus boy was very nice too he always made sure we had water & our table was okay.

I usually love Shay. As an event planner, I decided to plan my friend's bachelorette brunch there but unfortunately was greatly disappointed. I had asked for the long private table months in advance for a group of 15 ladies for a Bachelorette. I got confirmation from M. Jon Aboudi Sucar himself that we would. We arrive & 4 people were eating at that table & were told the table wouldn't be ready for a minimum of another 30 minutes. We had been told to be on time because we only had a maximum of 2hrs at that table.

I tried to reason with M. Jon Aboudi Sucar & he didn't care. No apology. He said he'd give shots like he does for all groups… We're all in our 30s & more we do not care for shots.

They set us up on a banquette instead. It was impossible for people to go speak to the bride & have one on ones with her or even do games we planned to respect the others. When someone wanted to go to the bathroom it was a pain. We couldn't even take proper pictures with the bride. Thankfully the bride is a people pleasure & didn't say anything but as the person who planned this whole day I had to mention it.

The waiters were nice & the food was great but I won't be reserving a big group there again or referring this restaurant to my clients as a place to do events. It's not a good place for events or big groups because the care isn't there.

A bit disappointed with the food. Our brunch came out almost immediately, but everything was cold, even the coffee. Nothing worse than cold eggs, & it didn't taste very fresh. It honestly felt like the food was pre-made & just sent out quickly.
The service was excellent though, 10/10 for the staff.

Incredible Middle Eastern inspired brunch/ dinner next time will for brunch the menu for brunch looks goos ! The hummus & the red mouhamara dip are phenomenal. Make sure to try the Shawarma Eggs Benedict-the flavors are perfectly balanced. The restaurant's decor is super chic & cozy, making it the perfect weekend spot. Will definitely be back!

What an incredible experience! The atmosphere is so beautiful, with such class, but yet not pretentious. The service was impeccable, the food was insane delicious!! Lots of gluten free options. I would highly recommend going to this place! We were a group for the dinner menu, but I cannot wait to try the brunch menu next time. An absolute true gem✨?
