My friend & I shared a smoothie bowl this morning & when I asked for a takeout container, I was given a dirty plastic bowl. I wanted to give the employee the benefit of the doubt in case it was an accident so I approached the counter to let her know. To my surprise, before I could say anything, she asked me'is it dirty?' as if she already knew it might not be clean. She then proceeded to take the lid to the back of the store & when she returned, the lid had clearly been hand washed. I'm all for saving the environment & I would never want to purposefully waste plastic but this doesn't pass any cleanliness standards in my books. The lid wasn't even properly dried. There was also no explanation as to why the container was dirty in the first place & no apology was given. For those wondering why I didn't ask for a new lid all together, I was totally caught off guard & I didn't think that the employee was going to hand wash it in the back, so all I could really do was try to make the most of a bizarre situation.
When I returned to my table, I also noticed that there were brown spots on the inside of the bowl. I can't even comprehend why a supposedly brand new container would be dirty. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. I hope this review encourages Shaka Club to do better in the future & re-evaluate their hygiene practices.
Update: Tried 3 flavors total & all were underwhelming & lacking in taste,
Plus one smoothie was 16$$$ for one small cup is way too overpriced especially when the taste is lacking!!! Price reasonably!!
Others were about 15$ per smoothie which is also very expensive
My experience with The Smoothies was underwhelming. I tried two flavors: the Number 3, which was lacking with an overpowering banana taste, & the Glow Smoothie, which was unpleasant, reminiscent of medicine. While the aesthetic is appealing, the staff was unhelpful, unable to provide clear descriptions of menu items or their flavors. This lack of guidance led to disappointing choices. I'm eager to give the place a chance & try more items, but not expecting much!
Not sure why this place is rated so high. The bowls are overpriced & the customer service is mediocre.

Came across this café during a random walk on Sunday & absolutely loved the place! I had an Avo One which was a banger & they also have great coffee.
Good atmosphere, good food/coffee & staff was amazing!
Nous sommes allés en fin d'après-midi & l'endroit était calme. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le décor ainsi que les boissons, qui étaient excellentes. Un clin d'oeil au travail de branding, c'est vraiment très réussi. L'accueil pourrait toutefois être un peu plus chaleureux, ce qui rendrait l'expérience encore plus agréable. Aussi, un léger ajustement du volume de la musique serait apprécié, car il était parfois difficile de s'entendre parler. Je recommande!
