It's been great over the years, keep coming back. Same consistent quality food. Sukiyaki soup is the best for Angus beef lightly cooked & dipped in raw egg. Prime beef is great as more lean option.
Used to love that place but as with many restaurants, since covid quality went down a bit & prices exploded & its just not worth it anymore. It is still ok if you don't look at the price, but at 40$ before tax for a tiny beef portion that isn't even marbled its really not worth it to me. If at least the beef was still nicely marbled like it used to be I might give it a pass, but not like that. Might not even be their fault, maybe beef inflation really is that bad idk, I just know I won't be back.
Fondue style japanese food, great quality for the meat, vegetables are very fresh, might be a little pricy but great overall
We had a great experience here! The food was amazing & the quality was on par with my experiences in Asia. The spicy broth & tofu were excellent. Our server was wonderful about walking us through the process. He was attentive, & gave us other great local recommendations.
Overall, quite pricey for the quality of food & service. Every plate of vegetable & rice is clearly prepared well in advance (the rice was quite dry, obviously not fresh, by the time we received it for example). It took well over 30 minutes for our order to be taken, & another 40 for food plates to arrive. Entrees & drinks were served last. My disappointment over the experience stems from their inability to cater to dietary requirements. I do not have particularly difficult ones to accommodate - I am lactose intolerant & have to avoid tofu for health concerns. Each meal comes with a plate of rice cakes & tofu. I asked to please not waste food & not to bring me the tofu since I won't be able to eat it, but if at all possible would like more rice cake to compensate. I was brought the tofu plate, being told substitutions were not possible (which is fair... but I still can't safely have tofu, & no other solution was offered). Then came dessert which was included. My options were a scoop of Oreo ice cream, or espresso with vanilla ice cream. Other menus had melon for dessert so I asked if I could possibly have that instead seeing as I am lactose intolerant, as they were told... I was replied "no". For a restaurant which has, on its menu, "please inform us of any food allergies or dietary requirements & we will be happy to accommodate you", it fell quite short of the mark.
Great fondu restaurant, great food quality. The owner makes his own Goma sauce & ponzu sauce to go with the menu. Both sauces are amazing. Decor goes with the style of the restaurant. I highly recommend trying this restaurant.
The food was great. We were to they had a bunch of reservations coming out but we could & a seat for an allotted time. The meat was wonderful quality & everything else was spectacular as well. Staff explained everything very well of the ins & outs.
More expensive in recent years so I go less frequent but it’s quite good. The quality of the ingredients is really top & you just don’t want it to end! Great broth. Around $50 / person.
Always great service, good quality & quantity of food. Best fondu place in china town.
I just want to tell about how great dinner in Montreal. the one of Japanese lady server did a very good job of explaining service. I haven’t had Shabushabu long time but the restaurant remind me clearly my hometown taste. My Korean friends first time here & love it! very fresh, high quality ingredients! the Sesame dipping definitely Japanese style. very recommend.
A different dining experience. My bf & i went here
for our 6th monthsary celebration. Although there's
heavy rain pouring outside, it even made our dining experience
here a really memorable one. Here, you cook your
own food. Your choice of dish are all raw & served in
a plate, a hot boiling pot in front of you, it's
up to you how you want them to be cooked. We had fun!
Reasonable price but food quantity & quality?
It is definitely worth every penny! We loved it! :)
