Welcome to Shabu Shabu Kagayaki in the popular Montreal's Chinatown district. Here you will discover a traditional Japanese specialty known has Shabu Shabu The origins of Shabu Shabu cooking date back many years, where families gathered around a large hot pot for their evening meal. Shabu Shabu means splash-splash. The customers receive thin slices of raw meat and vegetables, which they cook quickly in a pot of boiling water. These are dipped in a sesame sauce or ponzu sauce (soy based sauce). After the meal, the remaining broth is used as a soup for noodle or rice. Today, the freshest meat and seafood available, delicious Japanese sauces and a bowl of rice is all that's needed for a classic Shabu Shabu meal and Kagayaki is the place to experience what Shabu Shabu is all about. Along with great food, Kagayaki offers a great friendly atmosphere, traditional decor and great fun whether you are with a group of friends, family or in couple. Came in for some Japanese fondue on a rainy day which turned out to be just the.right choice. The classic combo gives you a good & balanced amount of delicious food. The atmosphere & setup are great. Service was impeccable. We had a great dining experience.

L'un de mes restaurant préféré! La concept est original, les fondues proposées sont délicieuses & les portions largement suffisantes! On en a pour notre argent sans aucun problème. Le service est amical & très bon, le seul petit bémol est la décoration somme toute assez quelconque. Il manque ce petit plus qui donnerait à ce restaurant une personnalité unique...

Un bel endroit, petit mais très efficace & les soupes sont excellentes. Le personnel est bien organisé & offrent la façon de faire pour les fondues japonaise.

Restaurant de fondue original. Nourriture de qualité & bonnes options de boisson avec ou sans alcool. Idéal pour prendre son temps: il faut compter au moins une heure pour le souper. Il vaut mieux réserver si on est plus de deux ou trois.

The food is amazing. It's been my husband & I's favorite restaurant for 2 years now. The prices are good too. If you've never tried asian fondue...you're missing out.

Une belle découverte! Nous nous dirigions vers notre habituel "spot" à soupe tonkinoise lorsque j'ai proposé de faire changement & d'essayer un nouvel endroit. Nous n'avons pas été déçus! Le shabu shabu était un concept totalement nouveau pour nous, mais nous avons pris un malin plaisir à concocter notre plat à partir de bouillon, délicieusement parfumé (dashi pour moi, traditionnel pour lui), de nouilles (udon pour moi, ramen pour lui) & d'un combo de trois viandes. Le rythme lent de la fondue m'a bien plu, on mange à notre faim, mais pas trop. Nous y retournerons certainement, pour essayer le bouillon épicé, lequel atterrissait devant presque tout le monde. Certainement une valeur sûre!

Terrific food & service! This was our first time at a fondue restaurant & our waiter was very helpful by giving us tips on how japanese fondue is done. Service was very quick too! We waited about 10 minutes to get our order & it tasted really good no matter how you cooked it. Very good pricing as well! Overall a very different & fun experience. Can't wait for our next trip!

Delicious & different... We eat Shabu Shabu for the first time & we expect something like fondue chinoise... It was a lot better & with different taste. The delicate flavour of the Beef grade "A" & the vegetables melted in our mouth... I order the spicy broth & I love it, it was hot, full of flavour, if you dont love spicy avoid it because is strong, for my kids we order the chicken broth, more delicate taste...
For sure I will back...
