I have been a fan of Satay Brothers since they opened but in the last two years I don't know what happened - I've never felt so unwelcome in a place. The last two times I went this year (May 2023 & March 2024) was the same: enter the restaurant, uncomfortably wait around for at least 10min in the entrance while staff walks around you & never acknowledge you (until THEY are ready to do so), wonder what is happening & whether you should just leave, then someone takes your name & shuffles you to their bar next-door so you can drink while you wait - but no one ever really tells you how long the wait will be. I'm happy to wait 1-2hrs but you have to tell me. That's called managing expectations. Food is good but for the service you get from the moment you walk in to when you pay, there are better options. I'm speaking as someone who highly values service quality. That said, if you're looking for a nice night out & to feel part of the "in crowd" & service quality isn't something important to you, then definitely go bc that's exactly what you're gonna get. The decorations are gorgeous & the music is great. Social media has that part right. Anyway, your money & your decisions!Voir plus

Wow! C'était ma première fois chez Satay brothers. Mon conjoint ayant déjà été & adoré, j'ai choisi cet endroit pour fêter son 73 ieme anniversaire comme surprise party avec 6 de ses amis. Ils ont tous vraiment apprécié l'endroit, le service de Joseph notre serveur & que dire de la nourriture... c'était un délice... tout était parfait! We need more places like this in Montreal. The music, the people, the food transported you for the night. Only ick was the wait for our table, but they made up for it with everything else. Make sure to order the papaya salad & fried chicken.Voir plus

Nous avons été soupé un mercredi soir, c'était plein, ça vous donne une idée à quel point ce resto est apprécié...avec raison! Nous étions 7 & malgré l'achalandage, le service a été rapide, courtois, la nourriture délicieuse, les cockails, wow. Au menu, nous avons essayé tout plein de chose, je recommande les Bun vapeur au porc, la salade de papaye, le laab & les cote de porc. Tout était délicieux & parfait. This was my husband & Is first time eating Malaysian food & our minds were blown! Reasonably priced & such amazing service. Our server was a sweetheart & gave us other recommendations to try for our time in Montréal. We got the bao buns, Moscow mule, & shrimp noodles & we were blown away!Voir plus

I'm asian so I expect a lot from Asian food in terms of flavor. atmosphere wise it is a really hopping place to hang out. BUT for Southeast Asian food-- the flavors are only salty but not very nuanced & the portions are tiny. my friend got a chicken leg as a starter & for $5 they gave something that looked like one measly chicken wing. I got laksa & the soup was coconutey & fine. the shrimp was the best part-- lightly cooked great texture. but not enough noodles. three slurps & I am done the bowl. & way too many bean sprouts. papaya salad was the tastiest at the table. the vegetarian options don't even bother. gado gado had no flavor. tofu Bao is also flavorless. too expensive for what it was.Voir plus

On est arrivé sans réservation & surprise.. Le restaurant ce soir là avait été privatisé, la salle d'à côté (une blanchisserie) au décor colonialiste & kitch à souhait (j'adooore) pouvait accueillir des clients, nous étions les premiers mais la salle a été vite remplie. Au menu, Bun vapeur au porc, salade de papaye & cote de porc. Tout était délicieux, mon seul regret était qu'on était sur une table près des toilettes & haute, trop petite pour accueillir tout nos plats. On y retournera surement mais dans la vraie salle j'espère & sur une meilleure table.Voir plus

Satay Brothers is a unique restaurant with soul & passion, providing an amazing menu with unique flavours through their wonderful service. This is the first restaurant in North America that I've seen have regulars - people from the neighborhood that come to this place for fine food & comfort. The Singaporean spired menu packs a delicious medley of flavours with ingredients not seen in North American cuisine. Prices are a bargain for what you're getting - freshly made pork baos & chicken skewers & whatever else they have on the menu - everything I tasted was delicious. Solide expérience ! Le proprio nous a même offert un petit cache-couche lorsqu'il a vu que j'étais enceinte. Nous avons eu droit à une tournée de shooters pour l'anniversaire de mon conjoint.
