Review Summary

Overall, San Sebastian cafe is praised for its silky San Sebastian cheesecake and a variety of toppings, with pistachio, biscoff and chocolate sauces drawing frequent compliments, and for tasty coffee, hot chocolate and tea that many find pleasantly rich. The atmosphere is repeatedly described as cozy, warm and conducive to study or relaxing with friends, and staff are noted as friendly and attentive. However, several reviews flag cleanliness problems, including dirty bathrooms and dusty floors, and some say the space can feel crowded or cramped, especially when people linger with laptops. Price is another common concern, with the cheesecake seen as expensive and portions sometimes judged small, and a few tasters feel the Basque style center is not as gooey as expected or that sweeter toppings push sweetness over the edge. Despite these caveats, many readers call it a must try and a hidden gem, often planning returns to sample different toppings and drink options.

The cheesecake was good with the pistachio sauce although a bit expensive. It was 18$ with a cup of tea.
However the staff was really nice & the ambiance was good too.
They even had games & books available!
Good place to study, work or just spend a good time with friends.

Cheesecake was okay, however, a bit bland & bitter without sauce. Also, consider the price. One slice costs $8.99 & any sauce costs $0.99 extra. Paid a total of $17 for one slice & a small pot of tea. Service was quite slow & not a lot of space to sit as people stay hours with their laptops. Also, why does there need to be a BIG flag of Syria in the window?

Absolutely LOVED!! this place. Visiting from outside the city. Great cheese cake not at all too sweet & I had it paired with biscoff topping & it was perfect not at all too sweet & went well together.

The atmosphere was super chill, warm & relaxing. We got the steeped tea to accompany the dessert & it was great.

Would definitely return in future & would recommend to anyone looking for a good relaxing warms dessert location in Montreal.

I enjoy the Saint Sébastien cheesecake I always order it with pistachio cream & chocolate cream, which makes the taste delicious & extraordinary. We also tried their pistachio latte which was delicious & I always like their homeland tea. I like this place & whenever I cry for cheesecake or Saint Sébastien cheesecake I'll go there.

Tried cheesecake with the pistachio cream on top, it was delicious! The cake was fresh, & the coffee & black tea were excellent too.
Definitely coming back to try other toppings next time!

Their San Sebastian cheesecake is out of this world: creamy, perfectly caramelized, & unforgettable. The coffee & mint tea are equally impressive, rich & full of flavor.

Today, I visited San Sebastian, a cozy café in downtown Montreal, & had a truly enjoyable experience. They serve an incredibly delicious cheesecake that I thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered green tea, which was beautifully presented in a small kettle along with a double-walled glass mug that kept the tea perfectly hot. Sipping it while savoring the cheesecake was a real treat.

My wife ordered maté & a herb-infused cookie with an exotic, delightful flavor. The atmosphere was warm & inviting, & the staff were exceptionally polite-always smiling & welcoming. A perfect spot to relax & unwind.
