Restaurant Rumi offers you a culinary experience of the Silk Road that once crossed Central Asia and the Middle East. A route that linked cities, oases and markets... great traditions, formidable kingdoms.
The Silk Road was also the route of spices, generous in fragrance and flavor. We invite you to be inspired by the spirit of the travelers, merchants and pilgrims who, for centuries, exchanged goods, riches and important cultural elements.
A spirit of discovery and openness.
We aim to create a hospitable atmosphere conducive to meaningful encounters. A setting in which to take the time to restore oneself in the sense of regaining strength and meaning.
As far as possible, our cuisine favors local, organic and sustainable agriculture. All the meat we serve is halal.
We give priority to fresh, local produce.

It was amazing! As soon as you enter, you feel in the Middle East, the decoration is beautiful, the atmosphere is calm but also with joy. The staff very kind!! We are definitely coming back because we want to try more things.
We ordered the hummus with pesto & naan bread, Beirut beer, Kefta beef & agneau & some baklava for dessert. We paid around $115 + tips
The portions are big, we didn't finish our plates so we asked for a box to take home.
Everyone was having a beverage with mango & tea, I will try that next time.
Shaker & the team service was excellent & the food was sweat, earthy & almost poetic. The Rez is tender it falls of the bone & the teas are authentic as described
I ate so well yesterday 😋
I was genuinely surprised by how generous the food portions were. The dishes were flavorful & tasty, with a beautiful balance of sweetness, salt, & seasoning.
The decor & lighting immediately immerse you in the restaurant's traditional ambiance. There were live performers playing traditional music, which made the experience even more special.
We also had the traditional tea service, which left me in awe-it was such a beautiful & intentional moment.
The earthy flavors, generous portions, rich tastes, decor, & music truly transported me into their world & culture. I believe it's Persian, though I wish I had confirmed because the experience was unforgettable.
They absolutely nailed their vision & mission.
Our server, Shaker, was great! The food was very good, though I have to admit that I preferred last time I was there (pre-2020). Maybe the Daal recipe is different now? Honestly, if I had never been to Rumi before, I would be giving it 5/5 stars. The labneh, ginger juice, Morrocan mint tea, & babaganoush were stellar. Still 100% a lovely experience & would recommend Rumi to everyone!
I came here for my birthday.
The staff is very nice & friendly.
I liked the mixed countries of this food.
I am picky when it comes to middle eastern food since I am one & theirs was delicious.
They make great Lebanese Iranian food.
I loved the fez which is lamb.
My friends loved the kafta karaz & djaj meshwi.
We had many appetizers such as babaghnouj
homous batata calamari merkez with naan bread.
I jad a small pot or Moroccan tea & a glass of Iranian tea. Those are great.
I wish they had the pita bread & kibbeh with meat.
Must visit place
Came here for supper one evening & it was fantastic! The braised Lamb Shank is expensive but very worth trying; falls off the bone & melts in your mouth. Great tea, delicious everything. Wonderful meal for sharing! Will probably be coming back to try their breakfast 😋
Absolutely delicious food & drinks. We only tried non-alcoholic but they had some incredibly refreshing juices & satisfying teas. The food was also really fresh & came quickly. The best babaganoush I've ever had! We tried the fish, lamb special & chicken djaj & they were all excellent!
Always a pleasure to dine at Rumi's. Fairly priced, the food was delicious with fresh ingredients & portions a good size, we love the eastern atmosphere & the service was friendly & efficient. The Moroccan tea to finish is a must! All in all Rumi's is a perennial favourite. We will of course be back.
After a disastrous experience at the Croissanterie across the street we went to Rumi which has been on my radar for some time. It was excellent. The menu is interesting & broad. There was a shakshuka on the menu with beef & lamb which really hit all the buttons. I ate it slowly just to savour it. My wife had a semolina dish - kouinaffeh - which she adored. Add to it a delicious mint tea & it was a great meal. Service was excellent, atmosphere warm & lovely. The server mentioned pastia for the next time. & we'd be down for a next time for sure.
Rumi is an old favourite & last night did not disappoint. The Fez was delicious, the Kafta was very good. The wine from Lebanon was exceptionally good. Mint tea & service made it all perfect. It's a place you will not want to miss at the very edge of Mile-End across from the Ukrainian Federation Community Center.
I did go tonight in the restaurant for my birthday they did change the menu the food is not as tasty as before & the service was too pushy we didn't even finish our entrée they brought my food on the table & we didn't finish our dessert & the tea the waiter He give me the bill.we did eat in 45 minutes Entre main dish & dessert & I did pay 180.00 dollars I don't go back there anymore.
Many heartfelt thanks to the team at Rumi for providing a unique taste of the traditional Islamic world. The visual & auditory beauty one is treated to take one to another world. The experience I have had coming to Rumi for the last ten years has been a real delight!
Ordered an abundance of meze dishes for a table of 7, to expand variety & increase deliciousness & reduce the strain of individual ordering. Don't forget pots of tea & wine. Plus charming, efficient, friendly service. Great meal.
fantastic alternative to the usual brunch fair. Long live merguez. Mint tea & mint lemonade were especially good.
Decor was beautiful.
This restaurant has a nice, relaxing ambience, friendly service & a very beautiful interior decoration according to its name, the wonderful poet RUMI. The food is delicious, esspecially if you are into mezze, lamb & mouth-watering rice dishes like me! Plates such as MALIK ("king") are served in an eye-catching oriental manner. The mint tea makes a wonderful dessert (& there are more sweet choices if you have a sweet tooth). There was a mixed laid back crowd eating there, I d say perfect for any occasion whether group, families or couples. The only suggestion as it gets colder is to make sure to close the doors as it was getting really chilly in the evening (terrasse was still open & waiters served inside & outside on this September evening).
I warmly recommend RUMI 💖
This is one of my favourite restaurant in the city. I often crave a good tajine & this is a great place for it.
Had yet again an amazing dinner, with a small hiccup where my dish (Loubia) wasn't as tasty, upon telling the waiter- not only did they apologized but they also check with the chef & apparently there really was missing a few ingredients in my dish. The restaurant decided to offer dessert & tea on the house. This is GREAT service!! I tremendously appreciate that our waiter checked with the kitchen & was honest enough to tell me the outcome of his conversation.
I truly love this restaurant- outstanding food & phenomenal service.
A must in the city, I always bring my out of town friends there & every time they are blown away.
Thank you again for a great night.
We had a lovely brunch at Rumi this weekend. It was our first time visiting & we were charmed by the eclectic, mystical- themed interior & friendly service. We tried two different omelettes both of which were delicious & really flavourful. We also had the Moroccan chicken pastry with cinnamon sprinkled in top (forget the name) which was like a dance on our taste buds. All the food seems to be prepared with love & care in the tradition of Sufi practice & you can really feel & taste the good energy here. We ended our meal with a pot of Persian Cardamom tea served in an exquisite silver decorated pot. It was the most fragrant cardamom tea I have ever had & a perfect way to end our meal. Would definitely recommend this place!
Awesome brunch Sunday. Everything was wonderful from all the usual favorite meze, merguez & mint tea to the tagines & omelettes. Vegetarians & meat lovers had many choices & left happy with the food, service & ambience.
Cannot recommend enough! It was my second time at Rumi & everything was delicious: the cold mezze, the hot mezzes & the vegetarian dish (roasted eggplant). With piping hot morrocan tea, I couldn't ask for more!
A beautiful, cozy space with friendly staff & delicious food. Their Dal soup was a true standout, & each of the mezze plates we had were just right. Dessert was decadent & if like mint tea, don't miss theirs.
