I visited Rumi on my final night in Montréal & couldn't have picked a better place. The staff were incredibly welcoming, the food was fresh & flavorful, & the atmosphere was both elegant & relaxing. If you're looking for a memorable dinner away from the busiest tourist areas, I highly recommend Rumi. I'll certainly be back on my next visit to Montréal.

I was recommended this restaurant by a few friends so we decided to give it a try today. We tried the Djaj Meshwy & the Muhamara Crusted Salmon.

Before getting into the food, it's important that the staff are fully aware of the ingredients in each dish. We were initially told that the salmon did not contain walnuts, only to later discover that it did. Since walnuts are a tree nut & a common allergen, this should be clearly disclosed on the menu & accurately communicated by staff.

As for the food, the Djaj Meshwy was well seasoned, but the chicken was very difficult to chew & seemed overcooked. The vegetables served alongside it were even more disappointing-tough, underwhelming, & lacking flavor.

The Muhamara Crusted Salmon was the highlight of the meal. The salmon itself was flavorful & well prepared, but it was let down by the sides. The potatoes were unimpressive, & the vegetables appeared undercooked.

Overall, this restaurant has a lot of potential, & perhaps we visited on an off day. However, for the price point-around $90 for two people-the quality & consistency of the food need improvement. I hope to see the restaurant refine its execution because the foundation is certainly there.

Wha an amazing discovery! This place is a little hidden gem, full of good juju & amazing flavours! Lamb kafta, mixed rice & djaj meshwy were incredible. The meat
literally melted in the mouth & the rice was cooked to perfection & paired amazingly with almonds & raisins. Mint tea was authentic & beautifully served. Cannot recommend this place enough!

We love this place, it's on our'short list' food is great, they're accommodating for family including our 3yo, & the ambience is unbeatable. Highly recommend! Get the cardamom tea to share, you won't be sorry!

Ma premiere fois chez Rumi après plusieurs recommandations. J'ai commandé l'entrée halloumi grillé, c'était trop bon. Ensuite comme plat principal, le filet de poisson blanc qui etait du thon, j'ai bcp aimé surtout les légumes vinaigrés sur le dessus. Mon amie a pris le poulet avec patates, elle a bien aimé. Je suis quand même décue car vos portions sont trop généreuses je n'ai pas eu de place pour un dessert 🤣. Bon ça sera pour une prochaine fois. La déco est vraiment belle.

Nous avions une réservation pour 4 personnes & la soirée c'est magnifiquement bien passé. La nourriture était excellente & le service impeccable. Je le recommande vivement.

Rumi est tout simplement excellent ! La nourriture est savoureuse, bien présentée & pleine de fraîcheur. L'ambiance est chaleureuse & conviviale, & le service est impeccable.
Un endroit que je recommande sans hésiter pour passer un super moment & bien manger.
