Rumi Mile-End, Montreal: Menu, Reviews & Reservations (2026)
Middle EasternMoroccanTurkishMediterraneanPersianHalalGrillBrunchCateringTasting Menu

Restaurant Rumi offers you a culinary experience of the Silk Road that once crossed Central Asia and the Middle East. A route that linked cities, oases and markets... great traditions, formidable kingdoms.

The Silk Road was also the route of spices, generous in fragrance and flavor. We invite you to be inspired by the spirit of the travelers, merchants and pilgrims who, for centuries, exchanged goods, riches and important cultural elements.
A spirit of discovery and openness.

We aim to create a hospitable atmosphere conducive to meaningful encounters. A setting in which to take the time to restore oneself in the sense of regaining strength and meaning.

As far as possible, our cuisine favors local, organic and sustainable agriculture. All the meat we serve is halal.

We give priority to fresh, local produce.

fantastic alternative to the usual brunch fair. Long live merguez. Mint tea & mint lemonade were especially good.
Decor was beautiful.

This restaurant has a nice, relaxing ambience, friendly service & a very beautiful interior decoration according to its name, the wonderful poet RUMI. The food is delicious, esspecially if you are into mezze, lamb & mouth-watering rice dishes like me! Plates such as MALIK ("king") are served in an eye-catching oriental manner. The mint tea makes a wonderful dessert (& there are more sweet choices if you have a sweet tooth). There was a mixed laid back crowd eating there, I d say perfect for any occasion whether group, families or couples. The only suggestion as it gets colder is to make sure to close the doors as it was getting really chilly in the evening (terrasse was still open & waiters served inside & outside on this September evening).
I warmly recommend RUMI 💖

Beautiful ambiance; flowers & plants on terrace, warm lighting from wall sconces, lamps, colorful rugs & hangings. Wait staff excellent & made recommendations based on our personal tastes. Good array of menu choices for both vegetarians & meat-eaters.

This restaurant was a delight, in every way. Visually, it was beautiful & welcoming both inside & out. We sat outside, surrounded by flowers & greenery. The menu was full of delectable possibilities, but we finally decided on lamb (Fez & Sultan dishes) & were amazed at every delicious bite. Truly, a memorable evening & a must-return-to dining experience.

A beautiful, cozy space with friendly staff & delicious food. Their Dal soup was a true standout, & each of the mezze plates we had were just right. Dessert was decadent & if like mint tea, don't miss theirs.

Every time we visit Montreal from the Untied States we make a point to eat at Rumi. The food is always superb & the wait staff helpful, fun & considerate. We often are at Rumi for either an anniversary of birthday so we have great fondness for the feasting that takes place. Two things stand out beyond the creative & savory menu: they have an extensive wine list that is affordable, &, a well-informed, bilingual staff that have always gone out of their way to help us. It is a physically beautiful eatery, too - not ostentatious - simply elegant in a quiet & hip manner.
