It was my first time visiting Montréal & we needed a nice meal before heading back home. This place came about & we decided to try it. It was a great choice! The food was delicious & filling, & our waitress was wonderful. The waitress was very friendly & gave us recommendations to save some money. Their gravy has a hint of heat. Their fries were crispy & very palletable. Chicken soup was perfect to warm up. I liked their water pitcher. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of their water pitcher. Go & check it out.
Super poulet!! Belles portions! Il faut aussi savoir que la sauce bbq est vraiment différente: différente de celle de St-Hubert & de celle de Benny. Elle est un peu plus sucrée & elle contient ce qui semble être de la cannelle. Une fois qu'on s'attend à cela, on apprécie & c'est vraiment bon. Le restaurant existe depuis 1944! Il y a beaucoup d'histoire dans ces murs! Le décors semble ne pas avoir changé depuis très longtemps, mais c'est très propre & l'aspect "vieillot" contribue au cachet & à l'atmosphère. Ça fait vintage mais "d'origine", pas "refait"... C'est cool! Bravo! À l'équipe du Chalet BBQ!😋👍
Es war erst eine Empfehlung meines Schwiegervaters. „Eines der letzten Originale aus seiner Zeit". Als ich dann auf der Bank platz nahm, kann in der Tat das Gefühl eines alten Diners auf. Das Personal ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit. 1/2 Hähnchen mit Pommes und Krautsalat... genial. Das beste... es gibt auch Bier.😄 Ich kann es nur sehr empfehlen dem Restaurant einen Besuch abzustatten, wenn ihr in Montreal seid.
Service was slower than usual but once we got our delicious meals it was forgotten

I like hole in the wall restaurant with simple good food & this is the place. I had the chicken sandwich with kaiser bun. It was a bit dry but still good. My daughter had the kids' meal, which was delicious as per her. This establishment is 80 years old & it shows with all the dark wood walls & chalet atmosphere. Prices are really low. For 2 meals, I paid under 30$, which is great for my wallet.
The chicken was so good! Well seasoned & very juicy. The gravy they give you is a bit spicy but was amazing. My waitress was super friendly.

GARDEZ VOS CLIENTS QUI S,APPAUVRISSENT SVP-Je suis une cliente de très longue date, une serveuse attroce jamais vu , une certaine Jodie J, nous a offert un service impolit, rude, agressif, aucune écoute, nous a garoché les plats, ne nous a jamais demandé si tout était ok, & malgré un pourboire correct, jamais remercié. Impolit, détestable très mauvais pour votre resto que j'adore depuis plus de 25 ans. svp vous n'avez pas besoin de ce genre de bas de gamme cm serveuse.
Bon petit resto rustique comme dans le temps avec ambiance plutôt tamisée , petit menu avec seulement du poulet & ce qui est associé avec (club-hot chicken). Poulet bon quoiqu'un peu sec & très bonnes frites maison ou patates au four offertes aussi en accompagnement.Bonne sauce brune avec la poutine particulièrement, bref c'était ma 1ère visite & j'y retournerais .
It's still the one....best BBQ chicken in our books! Very attentive service. Homey decoration, knotty pine. Challenge: Find the roosters in the decor 😀
Still the best rotisserie chicken available in Montreal, & serving one of the best lunch specials available. The fries are excellent, but the baked potato is a great option too.
If you want to visit one true Bar-B-Q chicken place, THIS IS THE PLACE, I can't see any other place in a 50-75 km distance that tops this place & I'm pretty sure there isn't in the province. this place is epic in any way. food is amazing, don't expect a very complex menu, this is old classics but done the right way. the place looks likes a log cabin... it's called chalet BBQ, what do you expect... these people knows how to deliver the due. this place is the only place I wanna go when it comes to BBQ chicken & it is probably the only remnants of an era where each hood had a BBQ place like this & still at that time Chalet was still top of my list (& I visited them all).
The standard for real BBQ chicken. Very moist & tender. Quebec fries. Sour Cole slaw. & their sauce.

Simply the best! Grew up in NDG, & this was always an affordable option for the family. I live in Ontario now & when I visit this is the first restaurant I to go to. Affordable, the staff are attentive & friendly. Everyone loves it just the way it is
