I have been eating the ( in my opinion) world's best BBQ Chicken since I was a child. Am 76 now, & Chalet BBQ still has the best Chicken, Fries & distinctive gravy available anywhere. Nothing compares to Chalet BBQ!
We had an amazing dinner with amazing service by the absolute nicest waitress ive ever had in my life! Her name was Brooklyn & she was 20/10 amazing service, super kind & friendly. Chicken wings & fries were sooooo delicious!!!

The restaurant looks very nice & inviting. The problem with the tables is that they cannot very well accommodate 4 people & they have a limited number of big tables. The food is nice. I recommend the chicken breast over chicken legs because the leg was small & very fatty. We went there a little late & we think this why the fries were stale. Some of the staff, especially the lady that served us, were very nice & friendly. For the price & quality of service, I think it's a good deal.
I have been eating here since the 60s, when i was a kid liveng not far away.Has not changed. Fast service, your seated & eating withing 5 minutes. they have lunch specials.I had water to drink she kept filling my glass, chicken breast ,french fries ,big cole slaw,2 sauce... $25.06 included a 15% tip
One should note that the dinning room closes at 9PM. Only takeout section is open till 10PM. Chalet Bar-B-Q is what your Anthony Bourdain dreams are made of! Only a handful of places like this scream "Montreal" like Céline Dion. Chalet puts St-Hubert chicken & french fries to shame. In addition, their desserts will have you wet like a 12 yers old obsessed kid at summer camp.

Chalet Bar-B-Q is one of the best places to get roast chicken here in the city. The last time I was here was probably a while ago but I hope to eat in this restaurant when this pandemic is over. From What I remembered. The service is decent because it was not as crowded as it used to be it was on a weekend as well but pretty busy. The chicken, fries side dishes were delicious & cooked to perfection. I had no issues with the food for dining in at the time. The last time I was there 5 years ago & it is one of my favorite chicken places in the city. The only thing is that it is pretty far for me since it is located close to downtown but in the N.D.G. area. However it is walkable from Villa-Maria & Vendome metro. There is also parking in the street & at the back. During the pandemic their times have changed & I believe they only accept takeout & delivery but no dining. 28 July, 2024 20:00. This Chalet BBQ is the best chicken place in the city. Pros: A) Our make server don't know his name is bilingual & very polite he is a male. B) The Cesar salad as a starter was good & simple & the chicken soup was hot & not like warm. Both were delicious. C) The chicken & baked potato were delicious & seasoned perfectly especially the chicken. D) The location is perfect as it's near the highway & not far from Vendome Metro. Cons: A) Washrooms is old & needs renovation. B) Parking is pretty tight but it's nice that they have parking for clients. Other than that. This a hidden gem & I want to comeback to visit & show tourists & visitors this chicken spot is the best in MTL. God Bless!!! In the future I hope to try & check it out. It was voted one of the best roast chicken restaurants by CTV & many chicken fans alike. A great recommendation & hope you guys can try it. One of the best roast chicken places in the 514 area.
It feels like you're blasted back to the past when you go into this restaurant, & in a very good way. I had a wonderful quarter chicken meal, the chicken was done just right & the fries were greasy & good. They've got parking in the back so it's very easy to dine here.

Been wanting to try this place for years & today it finally happened! I absolutely love the decor inside. It feels like your grandmother's cottage. Staff was ultra friendly & the food service was super fast. I have to say that they're gravy is quite possibly the best gravy I've ever had in my life.the rotisserie chicken & french fries were also right on the money. Really lovely experience & I will definitely go back soon. & yes, they still offer free chicken necks! All you have to do is ask. Crazy!
You know those early 2000's vampire movies with lots of shiney clothing, karate, & octogenarian character actors portraying vamps from "pure blooded" lineages with names like Dorian? Well, Swiss chalet & the like are very much daywalkers compared to Chalet bar b q's charming but dangerous baddie. The fries are outstanding, too.
Best chicken breast & fresh coleslaw I ever had in a restaurant. The large cup of sauce is perfect & adds to their whole delicious ensemble. Awesome service, even if it was end of day, it was super friendly... you know when you want friendly service in a restaurant, treat them how you want to be treated & you get the respect right back. The waitress deserved her 20% tip! They are celebrating their 80th anniversary this year... found out yesterday evening that my friend Ken worked their as a teenager about 40 years ago... he was explaining to us how they used to make their coleslaw, BBQ Chicken & he still loves the place after all these years... After talking with our waitress everything is made just like back in the day! If you're looking for Montreal's best chicken, look no further... The decor inside is old school (1960's), but it has it's charm, reminded me of my childhood in the 80's. The lighting is a little dim, but it has its charm, it goes well with the design of the place. You feel like you walk in a Montreal 80 year old business... I'm not saying age is a bad, but in their case, it's what attests it's food quality... 80 years of perfecting the art of roasting chicken. I took a picture on their menu... nothing complicated, they KNOW their chicken! We are in 2024, not 1944, so it's normal that portions have changed, prices too... but how many places in 2024 in Montreal offer fresh delicious meals under 15$? I have no idea why I've waited so long to come taste this institution in Montreal? I will most definitely will be back & I hope they will still be around in 20 years to celebrate their 100th anniversary!
Came back to here after a couple of years & it's even better than I remember. The gravy has got this special something about it that compliments the chicken so well. The chicken breast is the juiciest I've ever had. Combined with the homestyle fries & slaw, this place is one of the few institutions of Montreal that need to be preserved. You walk into the restaurant & it's like a time machine to a different time in Montreal. A nostalgic dining experience with top notch rotisserie chicken.

I went there for dinner with a friend of mine & the food & service were both very good & we had an enjoyable meal
