I went here for a company function, so my review will be focused on that experience rather than a normal sit-down restaurant experience.
The place is quite nice. The atmosphere is very warm & inviting, & the outdoor seating was comfortable. The staff were very kind & attentive, taking drink orders & making sure people were content.
The food however left much to be desired. I think there were about 5 small appetizers that were mostly meat/seafood. Our'dinner' option was either a two bite chicken skewer or a jalapeno popper wrapped in bacon. The dessert was a cream puff. I was holding on to hope that dessert would be a satisfying end to an otherwise lackluster meal, but it wasn't. I ended up leaving early with a coworker to get ice cream nearby instead.
A big issue I have... our company isn't small by any means, & diet preferences vary. We've got vegetarians, vegans, & pescetarians... out of everything offered throughout the night, there were maybe four things that weren't meat/dairy/seafood related. The bread & grapes on the charcuterie board available at the start of the night, a watermelon appetizer, & the cream puff for dessert. Anyone who didn't like or didn't eat meat/seafood for any reason probably had an even worse time with the food than the rest of us did.
I'm not sure if they do their own food for private functions or if they hire a catering business like some other places do, but man it was disappointing. For what I believe is an Italian restaurant, there are tons of options for non-meat/seafood related bites. Brushcetta? Zucchini fritters? Arancini? I used to be vegetarian but I'm not anymore so I was fine, but I know how frustrating it can be to have almost no options. The menu for private functions needs to be diversified a little. There are so, SO many possible options that highlight great flavours & ingredients that don't have to be meat/seafood focused. Variety is good.
But in general, what food was offered simply was not enough. It says a lot that by the end of the night, & even the day after the party, jokes were being made about how hungry we all were. People joked that the food they ate when they got home was the most satisfying bite of the night.
Overall, comfortable place & nice staff, but the food provided for private functions left much to be desired (& many bellies empty).
A standout experience in Montreal-exceptional food, wine, & hospitality.
Romies delivered the best service we've experienced on our Montreal trip so far, which was a welcome change after a few mediocre nights elsewhere. Our server, Adams, was amazing. Not only was he warm & patient, but his deep knowledge of the menu helped us choose the perfect wines tailored exactly to our tastes. He really went above & beyond for us. Between the stellar hospitality, the excellent meal, & the vibrant atmosphere, it was a flawless evening.
We made a reservation at this restaurant two months in advance, & one week before our booking they called to cancel it due to a private event.
Unfortunately, we never had the chance to try the food, but the lack of professionalism & seriousness was already very disappointing.
Overall good experience. Our waitress was quick & friendly without being overwhelming. The food was also good.

I don't know what that girl ZOYA is talking about but I love this restaurant the owner & staff is amazing & meal & drinks are phenomenal
This was genuinely one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had.
We waited an hour & a half for food, & during that entire time, the only thing that arrived was our salad. We didn't order drinks-just food-so there was no reason for such an excessive delay with zero communication.
What made the experience even worse was the service. Our server did not check on us once during that entire 90-minute wait. We eventually had to ask the front desk agent to call the manager because we had been completely ignored.
When the manager came over, instead of apologizing or acknowledging how unacceptable the experience had been, he immediately became defensive & told us that 30-40 minutes is an average wait on a busy weekend-which completely missed the point, since we had already been waiting far longer than that with almost no communication.
After that conversation, our server still disappeared, & our food didn't arrive for another 30 minutes. When it finally did, my burger was raw/undercooked. When the server eventually returned, there was no acknowledgment or concern about the issue. The manager came back again, but instead of taking accountability or listening to feedback about how poorly we had been treated, he simply said something along the lines of,'The other tables had a good experience-you just had a bad one tonight.'
That response was incredibly dismissive & unprofessional.
I understand restaurants get busy, especially on weekends. Delays happen. But good hospitality is about communication, accountability, & treating guests with respect when things go wrong. None of that happened here.
I would never return or recommend this restaurant based on this experience.
