Dès son arrivée, on a droit au service de voiturier puis, à l’intérieur, au service courtois et attentionné aux quatre coins de sa table. Le menu diversifié met à l’honneur le bœuf nourri au grain, bœuf de première qualité approuvé USDA, vieilli et fraîchement coupé chaque jour, un appétissant assortiment de poissons frais, de fruits de mer et de homard, tous apprêtés à la perfection.
Dans l'ensemble, Rib 'N Reef est perçu comme un steakhouse haut de gamme avec une ambiance chaleureuse et élégante et un salon de cigares dédié, où les steaks sont souvent loués pour leur cuisson parfaite et les fruits de mer, accompagnements et présentations sur table ajoutent à l'expérience, tandis qu'un service attentif et un programme de vins solide sont régulièrement soulignés; toutefois, plusieurs avis soulignent des prix élevés, des incohérences occasionnelles dans la cuisson ou le service, une salle bruyante ou bondée et des problèmes éventuels liés au rapport qualité-prix ou au service de voiturier.
The best steakhouse in Montreal! The food was incredible, cooked to perfection, & the service felt like they were there for just my group- always on time, consistent & very personable & professional. Beautiful space with an inviting atmosphere! 10/10 will visit again! 🥰
We came as a group of 5 on Friday night & I have to say, the best part of our experience was our excellent server, Sammi. Made us feel welcome, was great with recommendations & he made sure to call over the sommelier for wine recommandations.
The food was great, the fact that the dining room was more intimate made for a even better, calm dinner.
My only'problem' was that the plates weren't really hot so the food wasnt kept hot really long.

I ordered a rib steak, rare, it came medium. I sent it back they apologized & brought me a new one. It was still cold in the middle... I complained again & they took the same piece & over cooked it. I lost my appetite, I didn't eat the steak & I was still charged for it. Other than that the cesar salad, beef tartare & the sommeliers wine suggestion were fantastic. Ill be back but I was unimpressed with the steak.
In my books it s the best Steakhouse in Montreal. You don't go there to show off, it s not a tourist trap, just great food.

Visited from the States & ended up at Rib & Reef on a whim & super glad I did. The steak was crazy tender, lobster was fresh, & the staff were chill but attentive. A bit pricey but the vibe & food made it worth it. Definitely a solid Montreal spot for a nice dinner.
We had an amazing dinner for our daughters 13th birthday! Our server Josh was absolutely wonderful...attentive, kind & efficient. The entire staff working at our table added to the fun! We have been to Rib & Reef several times but tonight was definitely one of the most memorable! Looking forward to going back.

Great experience! Excellent food, ambiance & especially service! You pay for all the quality this restaurant offers! From opening doors, to pulling out my chair, providing warm hand cloths, to preparing the cesar salad in front of you.. all of it is 5 star! Will definitely be back!!!
Went there for a birthday...
The food experience was very good, can't rrally complain for the quality of food & the execution of plates...
However... The service was terrible... They had mistakenly cocktail... & when I had to change it they just add more stuff in it & brought back the same glass!
The Waiter was grumpy & without any sort of finesse...
The ambiance is very outdated & ordinary.... I would say nostalgic for the 80s...
I don't think I would come back after spent more then 400$ & had that experience.... However we will be back 100%for the lounge room! Terrific experience! ! We love it!!
I have been to this beautiful establishment twice. I am planning my trip to Montreal for the end of the year to celebrate my sister in law 50th birthday & 25th year wedding anniversary. Two spectacular events. I want to reserve the restaurant for a 3rd times. But I do not go anywhere without reading the reviews, so all I am getting from the reviews for Rib n Reef now is that the restaurant has a big problem in the kitchen since everyone is complaining about the food. It's disappointing to hear.
I hope managements see this review because something needs to be done. Reviews now make you or break you. You do not want that many reviews about your food because people not only come out to restaurant like yours for top notch service they also come for beautiful food presentation & excellent taste. I really hope something is done about the kitchen/food ASAP because it doesn't look good for business.

We decided to check out this upscale steak house in Montreal,the Rib n Reef. All I can say about this place was that if you want the best service & atmosphere & the food is not the highest priority, prepare to open up your wallet & check this place out. The food was not to match the pricetag but maybe going here is not just about the food,but the experience. Hat's off the the wait staff that serve here, they are the finest.
The place is beautiful, & they make great use of their space. It feels like stepping back in time, when dining was an acitivity reserved for the affluent. I suspect that the steak was not dried & salted prior to cooking, so don't expect any crust & ensure to season at the table. The lunch special is worth it. Spent $100 & got 5 decent plates (3 oysters, salad, baked potato, cake, coffee). The atmosphere made up for the lack of depth in the food, & the service was impeccable. I'll be back, perhaps to try their cigar lounge.
An absolutely outstanding evening - everything from start to finish was first-class. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked, tender, & bursting with flavor, while the Monte Carlo was rich, indulgent, & flawlessly prepared. Service was impeccable - attentive yet discreet - & the ambiance exudes that timeless, elegant steakhouse charm.
Every detail, from the warm lighting to the classic presentation, made for a truly memorable & refined dining experience. Rib'N Reef remains one of Montreal's finest - sophisticated, consistent, & effortlessly classy. JOSH was an excellent waiter. Kind & efficient!

Super soiree au steakhouse avec mon mari. Les steaks etaient delicieux, l'ambiance agreable & le service au top. On a vraiment apprecie & on reviendra!

La salle était vide & pourtant on nous a placés juste à côté du comptoir de service, en plein bruit & face à ce qui se passe derrière. Cela gâche l'expérience & ne permet pas de profiter d'un repas tranquille.
Le serveur a été professionnel & courtois, merci à lui. Par contre, le chef de salle passait en jetant des regards insistants sur les assiettes, ce qui était assez désagréable.
La nourriture était correcte, mais les prix semblent élevés par rapport à la concurrence pour des plats similaires. Le seul vrai coup de coeur reste le dessert, excellent & bien équilibré 😋.
Au moment du paiement, le pourboire débutant automatiquement à 20 % est surprenant. Le choix du pourcentage devrait appartenir au client & ne pas être imposé.
Verdict : nous ne reviendrons pas. Au lieu d'un moment paisible, nous avons surtout été dérangés par le bruit du comptoir.
