You MUST sit down & enjoy the amazing flavours that Reuben's has to offer. We had the short rib Mac & cheese, sliders & Cajun jambalaya. Even if you are picky with beef, I promise you the best beef you have consumed. Truly a highlight of our trip!

Next up on my smoked meat tour was Reuben's. Not to be confused with the other restaurant with the same name (I've been told they are not affiliated), I decided to try the big bang sandwich, which was the biggest sandwich they had.
Overall on taste I'd say it was decent. I liked that the fries were more of the shoestring variety as opposed to the darker cut fries that a lot of the deli restaurants seem to be serving. Because there is so much meat, it made it kind of impossible to eat it as a sandwich, which is okay as I really just needed a big protein portion. For me the price was a little too steep for my liking compared to some of the other restaurants I had during my visit. The meal came out to close to $50 after tax (& that's for takeout).
We had a wonderful meal. Food was excellent. Seems there was a bit of confusion with one of our meals not being what we had ordered & the building was very loud but excellent experience.
This is Montreal's premier spot for salmon, paired with amazing fries, mushrooms, & chicken. Even the mocktails are delicious! While busy days can feel rushed, the service remains solid. With excellent portions & high-quality food, it is highly recommended.
I 😘 this place. Especially the bar tender & the hostess. They made us feel like old friends during our visit. The hanger steak was cooked to perfection 🤤🤤

Great interior. Service was fantastic. I even got a taste tester of the meat. But my sandwich was underwhelming, & even worse was the poutine. Try sticking to the og smoked meat sandwich or something else entirely.
From the moment that Sylvie opened the door to let 2 freezing customers in, until we walked out, it was an incredible experience. Sylvie shuffled us off to a booth in the corner so we would not be visible from the street, the restaurant did not open until 1130 but she saw my niece & I standing in the cold & did not hesitate to open the door to us. Food was amazing as always, as was the service by the guy whose name I cannot remember but a smile that I will not soon forget, I am horrible but it began with an'O', so thank you big O for making our meal so amazing. & thanks to Sylvie for taking care of me so I did not have to climb the stairs to go to the washroom, I truly left the restaurant wondering what we did to deserve such amazing service. In retrospect, all of the employees were just truly happy to be there & the level of service is a reflection of their contentment. I will be back!!
I had probably the best sandwich of my life here, would travel back to Montreal just to have it again! Love the vibe of this place, pricey, but worth it. My cocktail was fantastic as well, highly recommend.

Omgoodness the food is so delicious & our server Vince was one of the best waiters we ever had!!! We were here visiting from nova scotia & this did not disappoint! Definitely will be back!
Had an absolutely wonderful dining experience here! The atmosphere was warm & welcoming from the moment we walked in. Our server was attentive & knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. The food was exceptional - fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned, & beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor. The portions were generous & well worth the price. The restaurant was clean & well-maintained, & despite being busy, we didn't feel rushed. The dessert was the perfect ending to our meal. We'll definitely be returning soon & would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal & excellent service. Five stars!
I accidentally got on the train going the wrong direction tonight.
Ended up at Reuben's instead.
Ordered the smoked meat, medium fat.
Upgraded the fries to poutine & added smoked meat on top.
Pickles on the side.
The meat was warm, smoky, & generous without falling apart.
The gravy soaked into the fries just enough.
The pickle wasn't a side dish, it was the reset button.
What impressed me most was the service.
No interruptions. No forced check-ins.
Napkins appeared exactly when needed.
It felt less like dinner & more like a small, well-timed gift from the city.
10/10 would happily get on the wrong train again.
