thai(84) dishes(58) wine(48) curry(41) pork(39) recommend(33) flavour(32) salad(27) rice(26) dessert(25) spicy(25) salty(24)Very unique Thai food. Not the traditional one. Taste is good but not the one we expected. The service is just average. The restaurant is not child-friendly. They don't have highchair not booster. The worst part of is their POS system: it still calculated the tips using the post-tax amount, even though the law changed over 4 months ago. The waiter is clearly aware of that, but he makes all kind of excuses instead of just admitting it. They seem to be concealing this & hoping most customers won't notice. Overall, it feels very dishonest.
The food at Pichai is good & I'm a regular, but the service has become way too rushed. We order right away & eat as dishes come out, yet we're made to feel pushed out for the next table. Offering dessert & then dropping the check while we're still eating it is rude. The rushed service makes the experience unpleasant.
I enjoy the food here & would've been 5 stars, but it's been a few times now where we were rushed out & it is really unpleasant. The last time I went they asked if they could bring the check immediately after dessert came out, but then they made me pay while we were eating.
Either allocate more time per reservation or simplify the experience. If you're only willing to give 2 hours then I'll just order half of the recommended quantities so I have enough time to eat it without being rushed ;)
I didn't enjoy most of the food they had to offer. fish balls (decent) , pork belly (overly fatty), arctic char (excellent), & pad krapao clams (mix of raw & overcooked basil with inedible parts such as stems & flowers, very little clams), Thai tea tiramisu (in my opinion they don't pair well together). Overall was not blown away like other diners sadly.
I've been here a few times & safe to say the recent time will be my last. Had a reservation but was still asked to wait while they clean the table (which is a reasonable explanation for a couple minute wait but we had to wait 30 minutes while others who came in after us were being seated right away).
Food was decent but can't help to notice the slip in quality (earlier visits the food was excellent but the past few times it's gotten progressively worse). Atmosphere also isn't the best but I'm sure that gradually decreased with the quality of food.
Our waitress was great, very friendly which is the only reason this review isn't lower. We got two of our dishes relatively quickly but the last dish we spent waiting 40 minutes for (all 3 dishes were ordered at the same time), again not sure what caused the delay but we were ready to leave before that point.
Again used to be one of my favourites but it's gotten progressively worse over the last visits, I hope they are able to turn things around but I won't be returning to witness it for myself.
This was one of the most outstanding meals we've had, & we were visiting from DC! The flavors were so complex, fresh, & bold. We loved every single thing we ordered, & while we were full, we still went for the Thai tea tiramisu which was incredible. The staff was so knowledgeable, & especially Parasto made our experience exceptional. Make the reservation, this is a meal you'll remember.
Super! Je vous conseille la salade de champignons. Très goûteux & une bonne portion.
