Nozy is a truly unique experience in Montreal & one of the rare places where you can eat genuinely authentic Japanese cuisine. In a city where real Japanese food is surprisingly hard to find, Nozy really stands apart.
I was a big fan of the original restaurant, & the new venue fully lives up to its reputation. The cooking feels confident & thoughtful, with a clear respect for Japanese culinary traditions. Nothing feels overdone or designed to impress for the sake of it. The focus is clearly on quality, technique, & balance.
The uni is outstanding, fresh & creamy with a clean, delicate flavor. The sashimi is beautifully cut & impeccably fresh, letting the fish speak for itself. The unagi is perfectly cooked, tender & rich, with just the right amount of glaze. The chirashi is another highlight, generous & well balanced, with every element placed with care.
What really makes Nozy special is the delicacy of the food. The flavors are subtle & precise, never heavy, & everything feels intentional. It is the kind of meal you slow down for & really appreciate.
If you care about Japanese cuisine & authenticity, Nozy is an absolute must in Montreal.
The quality, authenticity & affordability of the food is unmatched for Japanese food in Montreal. The ambiance is warm & inviting, it is definitely a relaxed yet chic vibe for people who want to enjoy the food & each others' company. Portions are very generous. Will come back.
Loyal to the authenticity. Best Japanese food I've had in mtl this year. Big fan of their new location too!!
The food is stunning. Everything was on point. Probably the best Japanese food I had in Montreal.
Excellent, authentic Japanese meal consisting mainly of fresh fish over rice & very tasty side dishes. Bonus points for offering amazing value & being unpretentious. Service was a bit forgetful but it's balanced out by the fact that dishes come out FAST.
Unpretentious Japanese eatery with fresh sashimi & typical bites (okonomyiaki, karage etc). The cocktais were very good, especially the Nigori-Yuzu Sour. Definitely recommend for a relaxed & delicious outing.
Very refreshing to try an authentic Japanese restaurant. This cuisine has so much to offer & Nozy does it well! Totemo oishiiii-des'
I enjoyed authentic Japanese cuisine prepared by a Japanese chef.
I have visited many Japanese restaurants in Montreal, but this one serves authentic Japanese cuisine that Japanese people would find delicious.
To be honest, it is a little more expensive than average, but considering that they do not use cheap ingredients & the rising cost of living, I think it is reasonable.
The atmosphere is not bad, & the food is excellent, but it is very disappointing that many reviews lower the rating with rude comments.
I think it is unfair to review other people's individuality.
Additionally, many people give one star based on personal taste preferences, which I find unreasonable. This is authentic Japanese cuisine.
If I must mention something, I agree there are a few areas where service could be improved, & I wanted to eat croquettes that felt more homemade, but overall, they deserve five stars.
You should go to a generic sushi restaurant if you claim this isn't Japanese cuisine.
The best japanese i've had in Montreal. Their specialties are those raw seafood. It's very fresh! However, the dessert is just okay.
Nozy is a hidden gem that brings high-quality Japanese cuisine to Montreal without the hefty omakase price tag. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or looking to explore creative Japanese flavors, this spot is worth a visit!
I ate there on Christmas Eve, the service was fast, the food was delicious & authentic. This is the best Japanese food I've had in Montreal, I felt like I was in Japan!
Sometimes it's a five star meal, other times it's a one star meal. On the right day, there are delicious Japanese specialties. Go on the wrong day & the uni bowl is a sad, swampy mess & the toro is pale & limp. The oysters have grit. Unfortunately, the prices remain the same either way.
If the chef wants to serve his customers, he might consider developing some table side manners. You're in the hospitality industry, why not act hospitable?
Cozy spot with authentic Japanese food. We ordered almost all the dishes & appetizers on the menu to share & it was really excellent. The okonomiyaki was the highlight.
Food & quality was good but a bit disappointing & overpriced for the quantity comparing to other Japanese restaurants
Small & cozy place to enjoy tasty Japanese dishes. The sashimi is a must!
