The atmosphere is quite relaxed, making it a good spot for a casual conversation without having to shout over loud music. The waitstaff was attentive & kept our water glasses filled throughout the night. I found the flavors to be authentic & well-balanced, which is exactly what I was looking for. I will certainly be returning to try some of the other dishes on the menu soon.
Decent place for a meal when you do not feel like cooking at home. The service was efficient enough & the food arrived at our table quite quickly even though the dining room was fairly busy when we arrived. I appreciate that they maintain a clean environment & the staff seems to work well together as a team. While the menu is not huge, it covers the essentials very well & the prices are reasonable for the size of the servings. A solid choice for anyone looking for good food without any pretense.
Finding a place with this level of consistency is rare these days. Everything about my experience at Nakfa felt genuine, from the moment I walked in the door until I left. The portions are generous & the ingredients taste incredibly fresh. It is refreshing to eat at a business that clearly takes pride in their kitchen operations. I have recommended this spot to a few of my coworkers already because it is definitely worth the trip if you are in the area & looking for a reliable lunch option.
Honestly one of the better experiences I have had recently. I stopped by Restaurant Nakfa on a whim & ended up having a really lovely time. The chef clearly understands how to season things properly, which is something a lot of places seem to overlook these days. It was nice to be able to sit down & enjoy a meal where every bite felt intentional. The staff was friendly & the overall vibe was just right. I am already planning to come back with some friends so they can experience the food for themselves.
A wonderful experience for those who enjoy discovering new cultures through food. Everything was delicious, authentic, & full of flavor. The traditional Eritrean dishes were fantastic, & I must come back to try the coffee ceremony. Highly recommended!
The shiro, hamli, & injera were soooo good. I wish I was around to try more of the vegan options they have. & The woman working there was very sweet. Next time I'm in Montreal I'll have to go back!
Je ne me souviens plus ce que j'ai pris. J'y ai été 2 fois déjà avec ma blonde & ma famille, & j'y retournerai.
Pick up order. Called in advance. A must try. Vegetarian combo is absolutely amazing. Cant go wrong.
