I wish I was around to try more of the vegan options they have. & The woman working there was very sweet. Next time I'm in Montreal I'll have to go back!
Eritrean & Ethiopian food are my favorite types of food. I'm from Minneapolis & since moving away I've found it very difficult to find anything remotely as good (& for a good price) as what I could get back home. This is the first time in 12 years that I've found a comparable place. I'm so pleased. This food is phenomenal, & very fairly priced. The injera is all gluten free & has that lovely fermented taste. Everything was perfect. I can't wait to eat here again.
Absolutely amazing. A must-try Ethiopian/Erythrean restaurant. I had a combination of 6 meat & vegetable dishes on top of a large piece of injera, & every single dish was tasty, generous & well seasoned. It all paired perfectly with the injera. They also gave me some spicy powder to dip the food in, & it brought everything to the next level.
Although the meal was a bit pricy for one person (around $40), I left full & happy. The whole experience felt like I was travelling to another country.
Le plat végétarien était exceptionnel ainsi que la crêpe injera! Belle découverte
The owner was warm & welcoming who took great care in presenting her food. The brown meat stew in the centre was especially tasty. She checked on us frequently & made sure we had enough injera to swoop up all the delicious stew.
"I recently visited Nakfa Restaurant & we had an amazing experience! his name is kahsay friendly, attentive gentle man & the atmosphere was cozy & inviting. The food was incredible - we ordered "Meat Combo " & it was flavorful & plentiful. The injera was fresh perfect ! Highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious Eritrean/Ethiopian cuisine in Montreal. from Hamilton O.N
The food is superb here, with the spices perfectly balanced. Between this place, Queen Sheba, & Nil Bleu, this one is my favorite. Prices are very reasonable: At $48, this plate (with another side of injera) served myself & my partner who did a half marathon this morning & needed 1500 calories intake. The last time I was here with 2 girl friends, we couldn't finish the plate. Service was warm & friendly; be prepared to wait for slow cooking if you arrive early, though it was well worth the wait.
The food was really good, but the injera is stickier & thicker than what I'm used to. They also sell injera, berbere, & shiro paste! Would be nice if they played Ethiopian music instead of a talk show
Truly a gem in the city. The owners care so wholeheartedly about sharing their food with the city & it is a treasure. The meat & veggies platter with the Injera is an absolute must try! Everything is delicious, service is impeccable, & more than fairly priced.
