The atmosphere is quite relaxed, making it a good spot for a casual conversation without having to shout over loud music. The waitstaff was attentive & kept our water glasses filled throughout the night. I found the flavors to be authentic & well-balanced, which is exactly what I was looking for. I will certainly be returning to try some of the other dishes on the menu soon.
A wonderful experience for those who enjoy discovering new cultures through food. Everything was delicious, authentic, & full of flavor. The traditional Eritrean dishes were fantastic, & I must come back to try the coffee ceremony. Highly recommended!
Brruuhh!!! Omg, my taste buds are in heaven. As a vegetarian who is seld proclaimed chef, the food is delicious!!!! Light but filling & satisfying at the same.time! Taste very fresh, bombs or different flavors exploded in my mouth! I got the veg plate. Highly recommended money well spent. I dont review much this is authentic
We came for dinner with our three daughters & loved the experience. The food was excellent, & the service was warm & welcoming. We ordered two combination meals with vegetable & meat dishes, & every bite was full of flavor. I called to make reservations ahead of time, but it wasn't really necessary. Communication was friendly & efficient. We'll definitely return & highly recommend it.
I was visiting from Toronto & craving some good Habesha food while in Montreal. After some searching, I found Nakfa Restaurant & decided to give it a try; & I'm glad I did! I ordered the combo for one, which came with a generous mix of meat & vegan options: white tibs, key tibs, shiro, cabbage, greens, salad, & a spicy red key siga wot called zigni. Everything was delicious & well-prepared; full of flavor & cooked perfectly. The portion was just right for one person, & I also enjoyed a nice cup of tea with the meal.
The service was good, though there's a bit of room for improvement. The space is quite small, & it wasn't easy to find a seat. I found the price a bit higher than what I'm used to in Toronto; I paid around $50 including a 15% tip; not sure why the difference, but the quality made up for it.
Overall, it was a great experience & a solid spot for authentic Habesha food in Montreal. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a taste of Eritrean/Ethiopian cuisine in the city!
11/10. The food is a next level experience, with incredible flavors, colors & spices. The service was impeccable & we were received with so much kindness. The decor felt authentic & transported us to Eritrea. All in all, a gem in Montreal to discover.
