Good price. Portions are quite generous, staff is super friendly, & service was nice & fast (exceot when its packed). Taste wise, flavourful. They change the dessert everyday, which is good if you want to try their dessert menu. If you like sweet & spicy gojuchang together, then this spot is for you. I would recommend for sure the fried tofu & fried sweet potatoes. I'd recommend coming here with friends or on a date! Super cute ambience.
This Korean restaurant is good. The food isn't too spicy, & it has four different free side dishes. I will want to come here again.
Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone :) We ordered the octopus soup & kimchi pancake. The pancake was a bit sweet but not spicy at all - & omg it was a huge portion. So I'd recommend to share it. The soup surprisingly was amazing. It was my first time trying this kind in a Korea restaurant. I thought it might be fishy/strong taste but it turned out so good. The taste was mild & slightly sweet. Overall, everything was fantastic:)
this is my second time to Mukja. we had to go back because surprisingly their food is great, coming from a korean person. usually my husband is picky with korean food since he is from Korea but he keeps telling me to go back because he craves certain dishes that we cannot find in other korean restaurants in Montreal. Obviously we haven't tasted everything on their menu ( they have quite a huge range of dishes + side dishes are delicious). Also their prices are reasonable. We are willing to go back whenever we can. Driving all the way from The west island is quite worth it. not to mention the waiters are efficient & polite to their customers. thank you for the nice bulgogi & spicy pork dishes!
most things are pretty good & fresh, service is great, but their soup broths need more depth of flavour (I find them a bit watery) & everything needs to be spicier, the soups are always way less spicy & salty than at other places. last time, my mom got a chicken bibimbap & said the chicken was really chewy & flavorless & the sauce tasted like nothing :(
Update 14-Sep-2024 Everything was delicious as per usual. We tried different dishes this time which were the kkanpoongi (sweet & sour fried chicken) & the jaenbang naengmyeon (cold noodle with wasabi-based sauce). The kkanpoongi was so tasty, crispy & the chicken was juicy! The cold noodle dish was so refreshing & I liked the wasabi sauce. It was big enough to feed at minimum 2 people. Will be coming back & ordering these two dishes along with the tangsuyuk & hot stone bibimbap. _____ Update 06-Jul-2024: Service was amazing! Our waiter was so kind & food came out quick. Size large tangsuyuk is HUGE! Bibim naengmyun, tangsuyuk & dolsot bibimbap were my faves. ------- Found this resto through TikTok & saw that they had just recently renovated from more of a counter spot to a dine in resto. The food was sooooo delicious. We got the special of the week which included a jajangmyeon & tangsuyuk for 19.99!!!! Definitely a bang for your buck. We also ordered the webfoot octopus which was perfectly balanced & not too spicy. Everything tasted amazing, the portions were generous & the value for the food here is unmatched. Will definitely be back!!
It was ok but just a bit meh. Nothing we ordered was outstanding & the deep fried chicken & pork was super chewy & not great. Porc bone soup & spicy tofu soup are better at most other places.
Updated: I have to say that I preferred when they were a counter service. The prices are still reasonable, but portions have shrunk considerably. The ingredients in the bibimbap was disappointing. I have yet to try their tripe & seafood dishes. Unpretentious & stellar Korean street food: Kogos, fried battered chicken & tofu in sweet spicy sauce, battered vegetables, stews & noodles. Prices are below market rate (the container of freshly fried tofu was $4.99). I'll definitely be back soon to try their spicy fish dishes.
It is small & cosy restaurant. The price really good for 2 persons. The staff is friendly. The food is amazing. If you are looking for authentic Korean food this is the spot. Also you dont like tolerate spicy be aware because some dishes are spicy
Fast & friendly service. The chef recommendations are phenomenal. It's not spicy enough but maybe because I'm just too crazy. It would be good to have the option to make things extra spicy. The "small" tangsuyuk was actually a normal size. I'm not too a big fan of the toebokki, it wasn't spicy & flavourful enough, just lacking that midnight snack super spicy omf. Overall, it was a great experience. Will be coming back to try the other items on the menu. The kids absolutely loved the jajamyeum. Really remind me of the takeouts in Seoul with the yellow radish & it's very generous with pork too! Yummmm!! Come try this place but don't come cuz I want to keep it not too crowded. This place is filled with Koreans so you know you're at the right place.
Very friendly staff & great food. Service was fast. Almost too fast but we also came when it was pretty quiet. We had teokbokki, black bean noodles & stir fried beef intestine. The teokbokki was pure fire so fair warning to those expecting a more sweet & spicy style & the cheese did nothing to temper the heat.
