Erin is an amazing waitress, so kind. Food was delicious, definitely recommend this place!!
Great service & presentation, but the atmosphere felt boring - like a cafeteria with no real design or decor. The food was also very bland.
We were looking for authentic Korean food & were supposed to go to Dawa, but they were closed. Dawa has the best Korean chicken resto in my opinion, not just because of the chicken but also the amazing side dishes & overall experience.
So we tried Mukja for the first time, & unfortunately it will also be the last. It feels like they adopted an Americanized version of Korean food that is flavorless & soulless. It was a very disappointing experience & honestly felt like the complete opposite of the resto next door.
Mukja has decent menu options, but the food is really bad if you're looking for authentic Korean flavors. I've been to many Korean restos in Montreal like Sam Cha, Matjip, Jako, & even Mon Ami, & they range from good to great. Mukja is by far the worst Korean resto experience I've had. We didn't even finish half of our food & still paid around $50.
I'm sorry for the bad review, but I genuinely don't recommend this place unless they make dramatic changes to their food.
Every time I eat here, I come away more than full & satisfied. Everything I've eaten has been delicious, but my favourite is always the bibimbap, whether I'm eating in or getting delivery. I've always been seated immediately, & the service is always great. I do find the tables & chairs are a little small, so I struggle a bit with leg room, & a long winter jacket slung over the back of your seat is more likely to touch the floor. But everything else is great - & it's a perfect location on a bus route & with nearby parking. Highly recommend!
GOMTANG!!! Whoever preps the gomtang here is the real MVP. Get it, enjoy it, savour it. It is sooooooo good. So glad we have this restaurant in Montreal. The banchans are always good as well & they rotate the selection it seems. Love it. Can't recommend enough.
For the price it's worth, it's delicious & fulfilling! Good price. Portions are quite generous, staff is super friendly, & service was nice & fast (exceot when its packed). Taste wise, flavourful. They change the dessert everyday, which is good if you want to try their dessert menu. If you like sweet & spicy gojuchang together, then this spot is for you. I would recommend for sure the fried tofu & fried sweet potatoes. I'd recommend coming here with friends or on a date! Super cute ambience.
Pretty good korean restaurants. Menu has options that are pretty typical from a korean restaurants, rice dishes, soups, noodles. They are very generous with their side dishes. Highly recommend. Price seems to have increase a bit after their reopening however. Sadly not the most affordable korean restraurant that I've tried
We've been apparently sleeping on Korean food! Great find on a night out exploring new places in the area. Everything was so flavorfu & service was prompt (a plus with a toddler). Server was kind, patient & explained the dishes. Highly recommend.
Overall terrible restaurant. Heard a lot of great things about this place so we went & tried it out. First of all it took the two waitresses around 5 minutes to seat us. After being seated we ordered the Jaeyuk & the Gamjatang. We received the Jaeyuk first, without any rice & the waitress told us the rice would be out in a minute (how am I supposed to eat?). We also needed to ask for the side dishes as the waitress forgot them… Then the soup followed (still no rice). When we finally tried the food we were extremely dissatisfied. The Jaeyuk is some random pork pieces bathing in oil & is straight up sugar. The gamjatang was ok but our meat was cold (inside the soup !!!), when we told our waitress she took our soup back to the kitchen & came back with it after reheating it (mind you we took the meat out to eat it, so we were left with boiling broth but still cold meat ?), also there was 1 singular potato in there. Side dishes were mid nothing incredible.
We left without finishing the food & when we paid we still paid full price, no compensation or anything to try to make it up to us (what usually happens when something is wrong with the food in a restaurant).
Anyways, I would not recommend the restaurant at all, terrible korean food & service. (i also checked the other customers & no one finished their dish)
We decided to eat here with my husband because we were craving Korean food, but unfortunately, we didn't enjoy it. It was overhyped. The soup was good but overly salty. The bibimbap was unappetizing, bland, slightly cold, & the lettuce didn't complement the dish at all. It was also too greasy for my taste.
The service was okay, but it took about 30 minutes for the food to arrive. If you're looking for authentic Korean food, I'd recommend Soopong on Queen Mary-you won't go wrong there.
