Mukja reçoit de nombreuses éloges pour ses saveurs coréennes authentiques, ses portions généreuses et son excellent rapport qualité prix, avec des plats favoris comme le tangsuyuk, le gomtang, le tteokbokki et les banchan, sans oublier une carte qui comprend soupes, plats principaux et dessert. L'ambiance est décrite comme chaleureuse et conviviale, avec un service attentif et beaucoup d'accompagnements gratuits, ce qui en fait une adresse fiable pour un repas entre amis ou en couple. Mukja used to be our favorite family-run restaurant, known for serving authentic Korean dishes that are hard to find at other Korean restaurants in Montreal. Sadly, after returning today, we were very disappointed.
The menu has changed significantly, but we decided to give it a try anyway-& regretted it. The soybean beef soup was bland, tasting like nothing more than water & soybean paste, with none of the rich flavor you would expect from a proper beef broth.
The seafood pancake was even worse. It was badly overcooked, the batter was far too thick, & it looked more like a pizza than a Korean pancake. To make matters worse, the middle of the pancake was burned, & it seemed like it was intentionally hidden under the soy sauce bowl. We only discovered it when we lifted the bowl.
When we brought this to the staff's attention, there was no apology or concern shown. We ended up leaving without finishing our food, yet still paid full price.
We were told the chef changed in February 2026, & unfortunately, the quality & authenticity of the food seem to have changed as well. It's really sad to see what was once our favorite restaurant lose what made it special. Sadly, we will not be coming back :(

The food is good & fairly priced for the quantity. We've been a couple of times & usually end up with leftovers for lunch the next day. The stews specifically the yukgaejang is really solid as is the dak galbi in my opinion.
For the price it's worth, it's delicious & fulfilling! Good price. Portions are quite generous, staff is super friendly, & service was nice & fast (exceot when its packed). Taste wise, flavourful. They change the dessert everyday, which is good if you want to try their dessert menu. If you like sweet & spicy gojuchang together, then this spot is for you. I would recommend for sure the fried tofu & fried sweet potatoes. I'd recommend coming here with friends or on a date! Super cute ambience.
Pretty good korean restaurants. Menu has options that are pretty typical from a korean restaurants, rice dishes, soups, noodles. They are very generous with their side dishes. Highly recommend. Price seems to have increase a bit after their reopening however. Sadly not the most affordable korean restraurant that I've tried

Overall terrible restaurant. Heard a lot of great things about this place so we went & tried it out. First of all it took the two waitresses around 5 minutes to seat us. After being seated we ordered the Jaeyuk & the Gamjatang. We received the Jaeyuk first, without any rice & the waitress told us the rice would be out in a minute (how am I supposed to eat?). We also needed to ask for the side dishes as the waitress forgot them… Then the soup followed (still no rice). When we finally tried the food we were extremely dissatisfied. The Jaeyuk is some random pork pieces bathing in oil & is straight up sugar. The gamjatang was ok but our meat was cold (inside the soup !!!), when we told our waitress she took our soup back to the kitchen & came back with it after reheating it (mind you we took the meat out to eat it, so we were left with boiling broth but still cold meat ?), also there was 1 singular potato in there. Side dishes were mid nothing incredible.
We left without finishing the food & when we paid we still paid full price, no compensation or anything to try to make it up to us (what usually happens when something is wrong with the food in a restaurant).
Anyways, I would not recommend the restaurant at all, terrible korean food & service. (i also checked the other customers & no one finished their dish)
I really love Mukja. It's such a cute & simple spot but really hits home with the flavours & meals. I love that you can get Makgeolli here, & their tteokbokki is to die for. I really love their baby octopus as well. I really recommend going here & trying. a bit of everything. The prices are SO affordable compared to most places, & this keeps us coming back even though we live an 1hr away. Keep up the fantastic work!
This Is my favorite Korean restaurant of the Whole city!! I've been there 4-5 times & it neveeeeer disappoints, I always have the best experience. The prices are so cheap & we get a lot of food! The staff is also really nice!! Thank uuuuu
Fantastic authentically made food !!! Portions are big & prices are very very good as well ! That's is the left overs because the portions were huge !!

Came here on a Wednesday night & the restaurant was pretty busy! The food was good & the prices were really affordable! I would come back here for a casual meal, the restaurant has a comfortable & homey feel!
