Review Summary

Reviews of Restaurant Le Ste-Hélène describe a warm, inviting atmosphere with friendly staff and a comfortable setting that includes a large terrace and indoor seating. Food gets mixed signals, with praise for items like the poutine of the day, good burgers, and other dishes, while some plates are described as average and prices are often deemed high for the island location. Service can be slow at times but is generally courteous, and overall the staff are noted as kind and helpful. Beverages include craft beers and Heineken, and the vibe is enhanced by light music and nice views. The place is seen as convenient when few other options exist, and experiences such as an urban sugar shack event are reported as enjoyable. In sum, Le Ste-Hélène offers a lively, well-liked setting with solid eats and drinks, but high prices and occasional delays temper the overall impression.

The urban sugar shack (cabane à sucre urbaine) brunch was very disappointing. Bland food, missing key items like ham & bacon, the terrible coleslaw was mostly wilted iceberg, my tea cup was dirty, dirty bathroom. Pickled beets from a can that they told me they recycle in other recipes after if we don't finish them (super unhygienic!). Overpriced ($58 after tax & tip). I left with terrible heartburn even though I didn't even eat that much. Of course if you're willing to drive to the country you'll find much better sugar shacks, but Montreal & its tourists also deserve so much better.

The food is good, but quite overpriced. 44$+tx. for a sugar shack. I don't feel what's worth the cost. Maybe something 30-35$ will be a good & fair price.

Easy to get to this restaurant using public transit. The food was amazing. Nice sugar shack experience, in the city. I also enjoyed the view of the Montreal skyline from Parc Jean Drapeau.
