I thought that I would have the oatmeal this morning but that was taken out & replaced with a chia type breakfast pudding. Big mistake guys! You should have kept the oatmeal. I tried the granola breakfast but it was not very filling.
I want to preface this by saying I enjoy fine dining & love eating at restaurants. We were excited to try this restaurant seeing it was a little more upscale & appeared to have excellent reviews. Unfortunately our experience here was very underwhelming & left us a bit upset. This feeling is purely based on the quality of food/drink & not regarding the service/ambiance of the restaurant.
None of our meals had much flavor & were mediocre at best (despite the premium price). Cocktails tasted okay, however, at over $25 per cocktail, there should be more than a few sips in the glass. I understand & appreciate fine dining, however, filling a cocktail glass barely a third of the way is skimping distastefully in my opinion. The best part of our meal was our server- he was attentive, friendly, & great all around. He caught us looking dissatisfied but knowing it was not his fault, we did not want to complain or mention our thoughts whenever he asked. Regardless, he insisted on taking one of the appetizers off the bill when he noticed we weren't eating it.
In summary, service was great but the food & drinks were extremely disappointing. The quality was not there & did not match the price point. There is fine dining & then there are restaurants that overcharge under the facade of'fine dining.' This is the latter of those two. We won't be dining here again. I suggest saving your money for a good experience elsewhere or eating elsewhere at a fraction of the cost, (& likely better)
J'avais de grandes attentes pour La Quintessence, mais mon expérience de vendredi dernier a été profondément décevante.
D'abord, la gestion des allergies & intolérances est inacceptable pour un restaurant de ce calibre. Aucune véritable alternative n'est proposée : on se contente de'dénuder' les plats, sans retravailler les recettes ni proposer des options adaptées. Pire encore, on vous demande de signer une décharge de responsabilité, ce qui donne l'impression que le problème vient du client plutôt que d'un manque d'adaptation du restaurant. Un établissement haut de gamme devrait être capable d'accommoder ses invités avec professionnalisme & créativité, pas se protéger juridiquement au lieu de faire son travail.
Mais le pire reste l'odeur. Le problème de mouffette était flagrant dans la salle - une odeur persistante & très désagréable, complètement incompatible avec une expérience gastronomique, encore moins avec un restaurant étoilé. C'était tout simplement écoeurant.
Tant que ce problème n'est pas réglé, je ne recommande pas cet endroit. À ce niveau de prix & de réputation, on s'attend à du respect, du soin & une expérience irréprochable. Ce n'était pas le cas.
2025 update:
Restaurant La Quintessence has not lost its touch! This was our best meal of 2025 at tremblant. The service was good, drinks were interesting, mocktails were very nice, & the food was amazing & creative. The squash soup was phenomenal, my duck was so wonderful, the sorbet selection they make in house & was delish!! We would go back often if we lived there!! Highly recommend!!

The Restaurant La Quintessence was outstanding! Service was excellent from start to finish, the food was amazing. The drinks were excellent, I had a specialty cocktail that was delish!! & the ambiance was perfect. I highly recommend this for a lovely night out.
Phenomenal food quality with a large menu & an incredible wine list. Definitely worth going.
Lovely setting & efficient albeit fairly slow service. Our waitress was very helpful in recommending a nice wine. 3 of 4 meals were under seasoned. Overall experience was okay. Overpriced for value.
Beautiful & warm place with an amazing view, really delicious food, & a kids' menu available.
The place itself is nice & the food that was ordered correct was good enough, but the place just felt very unprepared & disorganized from the moment we arrived. Numerous items missing from the menu or were written incorrectly on there. Messed up my order after a very detailed conversation about it & they were very slow to address the issue. Just felt like the place could use better management. Singer/keyboardist was great though!
This was an extremely unsatisfactory dining experience & one that raises serious concerns regarding service standards & billing practices.
Although our reservation for six guests was honored promptly & we were seated on arrival, service deteriorated immediately thereafter. The restaurant was less than halfway at capacity, yet we waited approximately twenty minutes for water, & one guest did not receive water until an additional twenty minutes had passed. Multiple polite reminders were made (every 15 minutes, or so.) yet requests for still water were never fulfilled. Bread was requested several times (again, being careful not to overwhelm our waitress) & did not arrive until roughly forty-five minutes after seating, at which point it was partially frozen.
Our food was served approximately ninety minutes after seating. While presentation was visually appealing, the quality & preparation of the dishes were unacceptable. I ordered the Montreal Spiced Tempeh, which consisted of deep-fried tempeh & undercooked king oyster mushrooms with a rubbery texture, served in an excessive amount of oil. The mushrooms appeared raw, & I was unable to consume more than half of the dish due to both poor preparation & subsequent physical discomfort. Given the repeated service failures, members of our party felt a shared concern about potential mishandling of our food.
The most troubling issue occurred when the bill was presented. Despite our request for a single bill, our waitress insisted on splitting the check & proceeded to double-charge items across three separate bills. Each time we kindly & promptly brought the errors to her attention, the checks were reprinted incorrectly again. When we finally requested a single itemized bill, we discovered additional errors. On the final re-print, we discovered an additional charge for the still water that was never delivered. Several guests in our party had already left by this point, while the remaining guests were required to dispute the charge, which the waitress continued to insist was valid.
As patient, respectful, & generous customers who have experience in the service industry, we are deeply disappointed by the lack of basic service standards, food quality control, & billing accuracy during this visit. Prospective diners should be aware of these issues when choosing to dine here.
Delicous food, great service. A little bit pricey. The atmosphere is boring, nothing is catching your eye inside of the restaurant.
Comme on le dit ,l'art de vivre en harmonie avec les 4 éléments ( l'eau, le feu,la terre & lair) ,vous inspirez le cinquième .

We ate here three times in our stay. Once for dinner, once for breakfast & once for dessert. Each time the food was great, service pleasant & friendly & it was a great atmosphere.
J'ai une résidence à Tremblant depuis 10 ans & Le Quintessence a toujours été un de mes restaurants préférés. Ce soir ce n'était pas bon. Les pâtes au homard étaient trop cuites & ne goûtaient rien. Pâteuses, pas de sauce & fade. Le foie gras en entrée avait tellement de nervure qu'on a laissé la moitié. J'espère qu'ils vont se ressaisir parce que je vois bien que les commentaires sont de moins en moins bons & j'aime bien l'endroit.
Cuisine décevante pour le prix des plats. Nous étions 6 & personne n'a aimé son plat principal. Excellents desserts. La terrasse est magnifique mais ne vaut pas ce prix
Un endroit de rêve !!!!
Ne manquez surtout pas la chance de découvrir ce lieu paradisiaque autant pour les papilles que pour les yeux.
Lovely setting excellent food & gorgeous lake view & sunset. We had the sweetest waitress. Loved the Les Moines en Provence cocktail. I had the octopus & husband had the beef. Both were delicious & plentiful. The Melilot Flower crème brûlée was a perfect light dessert to end the evening.
This is probably the best restaurant in walking distance to the village. The highlight is the high quality ingredients & a beautiful view of the lake.
While everything was very good, the surprise standout was the Caesars salad, which had chunks of hot. & thick bacon pieces. Definitely worth ordering
