The place is small & cosy, more like family place. The prices are really democratic. We were talking shrimp wonton soup with egg noodles, dumplings with pork & cabbage, dumplings with shrimp & pork. Highly recommended
The wonton soup was the only item I ordered & it suits my taste perfectly.
Quite an enjoyable meal! The lunch special offers excellent value-it included a main dish & a choice of soup, either wonton soup or hot & sour soup. The wonton soup featured shrimp wontons, & it was absolutely delicious. I loved the stir-fried beef rice noodles-the flavor was incredible, with perfectly stir-fried ingredients. The fried dumplings were amazing as well. At the end of the meal, they even gave us fortune cookies & fresh orange slices. They also served water infused with lemon, which was a nice touch. Everything was fantastic!
Ate here on our last day in Montreal. Was craving authentic dim sum, & found this gem. Shared a large wonton soup & dim sum combo B, we were so full, & then our server dropped off 4 more share plates! Beyond value, quality, authentic, & friendly. Wish we came here from the start! Plus they open until 330am!
Updated 2024.10.25. Arrived late on VIA train, & searched Google maps while on the train that would be opened at midnight & Restaurant Kung Fu came up for Chinese cuisine. Walked from the train station. Brightly lit interior, clean. They offer set menus, but I had my own ideas of what to get & it ended up costing the same. Ordered a small wonton soup, steamed shrimp dumplings har gow, steamed pork dumplings siu mai, broccoli with Chinese BBQ pork instead of beef, steamed xao long bao, Tsing Tao beer. Don't order too many dishes. The food didn't take very long before it started appearing. We were pretty full. Their xao long bao wasn't all that tasty nor appealing. The wonton & siu mai could have been improved with the addition of shrimp & mushrooms, & powdered dried flounder for their wonton to improve the complexity of taste, like improving from one musical instrument to a quartet.
two stars: 1 for service, 1 for price we were 2 ppl & ordered the siu mai, in addition to the wonton soup ($5.50) & cantonese chow mein lunch special ($13.50). the siu mai & wontons were SO small, i was shocked. especially considering the dim sum dish is min. $5.50 & only came wih 4 small pieces. i expected the cantonese chow mein to have crispy fried noodles & instead it was super drenched & soggy with sauce. it had nice presentation (which i didn't get a photo of) with plenty of toppings, but was subpar overall. unfortunately, we do not plan on returning.
Great new Chinese food resto in downtown Montreal! So tasty & such high quality food ingredients that are obvious from the first bite! Service by Lily was top notch & very friendly. Hot & sour soup was awesome! Black bean sauce was excellent. Chicken was so tender, fresh & high quality. Finally, Chinese dishes that are not flooded with green peppers. I highly recommend trying Kung Foo!!
Newly opened, very competitive pricing for a downtown food option, taste was fairy standard chinese food level, the soup noodles was way bigger than I anticipated! The food looks better than their promotional picture which is odd, & I was served pretty fast too. Overall it was a good experience, will return
J'ai aimé le poulet général tao & la soupe wonton !! Portion généreuse !!
we got dimsum combo B, a chicken fried rice + wonton soup, & salt & pepper pork chops. it was $70 total. we were 3 people & we were absolutely stuffed! really good amount of food. dimsum food quality was not the best but i still think it's a great spot for an affordable casual meal
We ordered the combo A for 2 to go. We were amazing not only by the quantity but the quality of the food for the price! We are definitely going back! Our favourite dish from the combo was the wonton soup & the shrimp dumplings! The shrimp dumplings look & taste like taking out from a Ghibli movie. The service was fast & the staff was really nice. If you are downtown & hungry, this is a great place. You will not be disappointed!
Just had dinner at this newly open restaurant with my wife. I used to be a waiter in a similar restaurant back in my days so I ca mn make some comparisons. Portions: We ordered the combo F, which is supposedly for 2 people... we could not go through all the food they brought us! I think it was meant for a family of 4! Service: food arrived a bit too quickly at the beginning (we barely started eating our soup & they started serving the entree), but they readjusted the pace afterwards. Taste: I was surprised at the freshness of the food & it tasted amazing. Among all the plates that were brought, there was the classic general tao chicken. Too often, at least in my taste, there is way too much breading but not in this restaurant! It was light but tasty! Fried rice was also a positive surprise, not too heavy on soy sauce. Overall experience: I highly recommend this place. Small place, sitting for approx 25 people but does not feel cramped. A must try if you are around.
