A solid dim sum that had everything I was looking for, served fresh & plentiful for a reasonable price. Ordered 11 dim sum items plus an entrée to share & Spent about 70 each. As a frugal diner I walked out with absolutely no buyers remorse, fat & happy. Our waiter was attentive, considerate, & helpful & we were encouraged to stay as long as we liked with complimentary green tea from start to finish & orange slices for dessert that were the perfect touch & really made us feel looked after. The most comforting dining experience I have had in a really long time.
Caveats: we went on a Monday pretty much right when the doors opened for dinner. We were 2 ordering enough food for 4 & relied heavily on the server recommendations. We were one of only a few tables in the restaurant.
Me & my sister were the first people in for dinner service yesterday evening & the food & service was incredible. Everything we ordered was piping hot, perfectly prepared, & the portions were generous for the price. We loved the selection of harder-to-find dim sum plates, like the tripe with scallion, the saucy chicken feet, the sticky rice in lotus leaf, & the spicy beef tendon. After our meal, our waiter brought us a little plate with cut up oranges on it &, i'll be damned, it was the best orange i think I've ever tasted. We got our leftovers packed up & they kindly let us sit & enjoy some tea for quite some time, it felt like being guests in someone's home. 10/10 we will DEFINITELY be back.
Food was good, but couldn't compensate for the terrible quality of service we just encountered. We arrive at 9:15pm knowing that it closes at 10pm. They greet us by saying « we close at 10, be quick ». They set us up at the table, litteraly throw the menus on the table & say « order now, we close in 45 minutes ». Mind you, there are 2 different menus with a total of 25 pages with half of the items not having a price tag. 2 minutes later, the waiter comes & ask us to order now. We didn't have time to look at the whole menu so we ask him to recommend us his favorites, he simply says « you order, not me », so i rapidly scroll the menu & point certain items that look nice. They bring all the food within 15 minutes & the bill as well saying that they need us to pay now. Due to the rudeness & quality of service, we leave an 8% tip. The waiter waits for the bill to print & starts shouting at us in an unknown language & then demands that we give him more money. We refuse & he continues shouting at us. I then calmly tell him that we will not give him more money so if he can leave us alone so we can eat & then leave. He then goes to other tables & starts trash talking us to other customers while pointing us with his finger. He proceeds to come 2 more times to scream & ask for more money to which i replied the last time that i do not care about whatever he's saying & to leave us alone. He then proceeded to talking with people about us for the rest of the evening in front of us. We can safely say that this is the last time we will leave this restaurant as we will never come back.
The vegetarian dishes were good, lots of options (some with mock meat) & price was reasonable. We went in the late afternoon & ordered both from the dinner menu & dim sum menu, but the dim sum was not fresh. I find the restaurant's hygiene concerning. Several tea cups were not cleaned properly with lipstick, there were flies flying around.
I will be really honest, the place doesnt worth the price, I expected a little bit more at least but we were really dissapointed on the food was super salty, bland or not well seasoned, the quantity ita good but meh not worth it, the personal was attentitvd a little bit slow when they had to take your dirty plates & the place its good but meed a little bit more love.
Authentic dim sum restaurant. Decent prices for the food quality. Bring cash! ;)
The dim sum menu did not have prices. Is that normal? Some of the dishes were aggressively salty. That combined with a lack of water (& one tiny teapot for a table of 7 that was never refilled) left us feeling very parched. We asked for a refill on the tea but never received it. The service was friendly otherwise. Still, the dishes tasted good other than the saltiness. Portions were good as well.
After 20 some hrs, two connecting flight (@ Hong Kong & Vancouver) including a red eye flight, we finally arrived at Montreal around 8 am. My first meal at Montreal. Dim sum. The price is reasonable & it's quite authentic, delicious. It's nice to find such good dim sum restaurant in Montreal.
Huge round table perfect for a family dinner or a souper with some friends the staff is friendly but u need to repeat. They only speak English or Chinese. My childhood restaurant !! 🤤 Super view & clean !! They have toilets !! For 3 it was less than 60$ not bad not bad & the food was delicious !! MY FAVORITE OBVIOUSLY WONTON SOUP ( in the picture the price was around 40$ - 50$ )
They open super early compared to other spots in the area & the staff are SO friendly! Service is incredibly fast & the menu has all the classics plus some special items. The food I got on this solo breakfast trip was amazing, great flavours, fresh, & priced reasonably. The only downside is the some parts of the restaurant atmosphere could use an upgrade, the seat covers are discoloured & the entrance has piles of random things everywhere. Since I'm just here for food I'm not too fussed about that so overall still would recommend & go again!
Good spot for Dim Sum yummy 😋 choices. The prices have gone up,the portions are smaller, still good but too expensive 🫰
We chose this place as we were trying to find a non-touristy!!! Chinese restaurant in China town via this website & looking at the recommendation on my phone. It was a bit difficult trying to find the entrance of the place, as you access it through a business centre serviced probably by Chinese businesses for mainly Chinese diaspora & then take the stairs to the upper level & go towards the south-western corner of the building.
We were a bit more dismayed seeing the white cloth covered chairs & tables, normally used for receptions/weddings but checking their menu we found not only stuff that we love but also that their prices are not high compared to similar prices in UK or USA.
The staff was very friendly & welcoming & although only 3 table being taken, we noticed by the time we left, there were around 8 table occupied near our window table overlooking a wall, which meant we had a quiet environment & the servers were faster.
The food was great, a mix of dim sum, soft shell crab, beef rice etc & noticing how ripped both the table cloths & the menus were, our server told us the owner prefers this for more character!!!
