Come join us for a sunny, gourmet time in African lands. The Restaurant Bar 30 juin opens its doors to you and offers both modern and traditional meals in a warm atmosphere. The cuisine offered at our African Restaurant in Montreal will charm you with its authentic flavors from all over Africa.
Restaurant Bar 30 juin receives consistent praise for bold, flavorful African and cross-cultural dishes, generous portions, and friendly, attentive staff in a warm, lively setting with good music. Dishes such as yassa chicken, poulet mayo, goat, cod, fufu with grain sauce and cassava placali, and plantain offer a varied and satisfying experience, with desserts like Congo cake providing a sweet finish. The atmosphere is described as welcoming and convivial, sometimes with regulars and a mix of curious diners contributing to a relaxed vibe. Service is repeatedly highlighted as kind and professional, though a few reviews note occasional rough edges such as uneven seating, heat issues on cold nights, and long wait times or a takeout mix-up. A minority report concerns about tipping practices in some visits. Overall, the restaurant is seen as a solid, authentic, and reasonably priced option for flavorful African and diaspora cuisine in Montreal, with many mentions of return visits and positive recommendations.
We were first to arrive for lunch time. We were well greated & received & our orders were taken fast. The food was on point as well as the drinks. It was pretty cold in the restaurant as it was very dim & dark. The door was open ( Canadian winter ) so very chilli. Please keep in mind we were first & the only guest. This is why I only give 3 stars for atmosphere as we did not experience de restaurant at its heart beat am sure during rush hours or late at night must be entirely different. I recommend to book if you wish to eat at later times, definitely a spot to visit for those who love West African food in Montreal.
What a place to feel alive! The vibe is fantastic, the music is great, & the service is excellent-Angie did a wonderful job. The food is amazing as well. I highly recommend this place!

A Wonderful Dining Experience! I recently visited this African restaurant & was thoroughly impressed by the experience. From the moment I walked in, the welcoming & vibrant ambience set the tone for a great meal. The decor was warm & inviting, with a touch of authentic African charm that made the atmosphere truly unique. The service was top-notch-the staff member was attentive, friendly, & eager to ensure we had a great dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu & happy to make recommendations. Their positive attitude added an extra touch of warmth to the evening. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious! We ordered fufu, alloco, half chicken yassa, & half grilled chicken. Each dish was bursting with rich, flavorful spices & cooked to perfection. The fufu had the perfect texture, the alloco was crispy & sweet, & the chicken dishes were tender & wonderfully seasoned. It was clear that a lot of care & love went into preparing the food. This restaurant is a gem, & I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy authentic African cuisine in a welcoming & pleasant setting. I can't wait to come back & try more dishes!
Last weekend, my family & I visited 30 Juin Restaurant in Montreal, a spot known for its authentic Congolese cuisine. We were excited to dive into flavors that reminded us of home, & this meal did not disappoint. Our server, Claudia, warmly welcomed us & guided us through the menu, making us feel at ease right away. To start, we ordered Sweet Potato Fries, Beef Samoussas (4), & Veggie Samoussas (5). Each bite was bursting with flavor & set the tone for the feast to come. For our shared, family-style entrée, we chose a variety of dishes: Makayabu (2) - fried cod that was perfectly seasoned & crispy, ½ Yassa Chicken - braised chicken marinated in a lemon, mustard, & onion sauce that was both tangy & rich, & Laid - stewed cassava leaves that brought a comforting, earthy taste. These entrées were paired with white rice & Fufu - a soft dough made from wheat flour, ideal for scooping up every bit of sauce. This meal hit home in every sense. Not only was it hearty & delicious, but it also brought back childhood memories of eating similar dishes at my grandparents' house. The flavors were authentic & nostalgic, & with six of us sharing, there was still plenty of food left over to take home. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy & inviting, & being among the first customers to arrive, we had a chance to enjoy the space before it filled up. Claudia's service was impeccable - she was attentive & kind, adding to our experience. That said, the bathroom could use some attention. While it was usable, it wasn't as clean or presentable as I would have liked. Overall, 30 Juin Restaurant delivered a meal that felt like a warm hug from home. I love a good African cuisine, & this spot truly captured the essence of Congolese flavors. We'll definitely be back for another visit!
