Review Summary

Reviewers consistently describe Regashi Isakaya as a refined Japanese restaurant with superb service, a warm intimate ambiance, and a menu that showcases fresh and aged seafood at a high level. The tasting menu is frequently singled out as a must, and the sashimi, aged fish in maturation, and delicate broths are repeatedly praised for balance and finesse, with dishes noted for meticulous preparation and thoughtful presentation. The staff is described as attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, offering personalized recommendations and small attentive touches, while the atmosphere is noted as convivial whether dining solo or with friends. Several diners highlight the exceptional quality, variety of flavors, and thoughtful sake and wine options, making it feel like a true destination. A minority consider the price point steep or portions modest for certain appetites, and a few reviews mention isolated issues such as occasional communication gaps or, in one case, illness after the meal. Overall Regashi Isakaya is seen as a remarkable, memorable dining experience that invites return visits to explore more of the menu.

Wonderful restaurant, with authentic Japanese cuisine. The hand made ramens are the best in Montreal. The pork bun is one of the most delicious I have ever eaten. The texture of the bun is soft, the pork is melting in your mouth & the slightly acidic sauce counterbalances perfectly the fat of the pork. The aged fish is always changing but always surprising & delectable. They have an impressive list of sake. The open kitchen makes it very convivial, the service is friendly & professional. It's a true gem!

What a cool experience, food was amazing, dry aged salmon was the bomb. I've never tasted fish so good & prepared in that way before. Tons of passion & creativity from the chef & was a very welcoming warm environment. Would recommend!
