Updated review: This business absorbed the reviews from our previous favorite soup dumpling place called "bien maison" which was a solid 5 stars. Today we tried this new place & while the soup dumpling where exellent, the staff gave us attitude when we payed because we gave 15% tip which is supposed to be good. This ruined the experience for us.View more

these dumplings are really so tasty!! we had all of ours boiled, we tried beef, pork & lamb, as well as the shrimp dumplings & the siu mai. everything was just so good!! the beef ones especially. the service was fast & the staff was really nice; it is a really good, cozy family-owned dumpling restaurant!! would definitely come back also, i must say, it is cash only!! but they do have an atm at the front of the restaurant.View more

Came here based on some blog posts & reviews. Food was ok. Soup ordered was room temp. I heard another patron complain about the temp & the server brought his soup to the back & microwaved it, then returned with a "here is your EXTRA HOT" soup comment. Found a couple small bones in my pork dumplings. I don't think I'll be backView more

Le menu est peu varié, on ne sert pas d'alcool, mais les dumplings porc, coriandre & crevettes sont vraiment excellents. Nous y venons souvent, principalement lorsque nous avons peu de temps mais envie de bien manger.

Très bons dumplings, fraîchement préparés devant vous. Ils ne servent presque que ça, donc attendez-vous à un menu peu varié. Néanmoins, les dumplings sont savoureux, bien assaisonnés. Si vous les prenez frits, ils seront délicieusement croustillants. C'est invariable, chaque fois que nous y allons, nous prenons les dumplings au boeuf avec cari, à notre avis les meilleurs, & nous nous régalons. Le service est par contre lent & inégal, mais le restaurant est toujours plein à craquer.

My daughter suddenly had a craving for dumplings when his brother was getting a haircut in Chinatown so we decided to try Mai Xiang Yuan. The place was not full when we went in around 12:15 pm but it suddenly became full after 15 minutes.
We ordered the following: (1) Fried Lamb & onion dumplings, (2) Pork, mushroom, & shrimp dumplings, & (3) Pork & shrimp dumplings in soup.
The place may not be fancy looking but the dumplings we had were very savory. We've tried a few of the dumplings place near the area but none got our approval in terms of taste. That's why we were so happy to discover this. As one posted in his review, truly a "diamond in the rough."
The service was great. The staff were all smiling (you can see the people making the dumplings; so, we took the opportunity to see how they prepared our food). The time it took for our order to be served is quite acceptable.
We never had the chance to see/ use the restroom. We were in & out of the place in 30 minutes & we ate 40 dumplings (total). As my daughter simply put it, "HAPPY TUMMY MAMA!"
