Even with new competitors, no other dumpling place matches their quality & taste. Fried or steamed, everything's excellent-especially the lamb & coriander, pork-leek-shrimp, & even the tofu. The Chinatown location has a great vibe & faster service than ever. Wishing them continued success!View more
Dumplings require a hole technique & it took me a while to stop messing around (a lot). The shrimp dumpling was pretty good.View more
As a self-proclaimed dumpling aficionado, I couldn't resist stopping by Qing Hua Dumpling in Chinatown Montreal for dinner. Known for their fresh dumplings made to order, this spot is a go-to for many, & I finally had the chance to see what the hype was all about. We ordered the Chef's Special Dumplings & the classic Shrimp, Pork, & Chive Dumplings. Let me start with the standout: the shrimp dumplings. These were everything I could hope for-plump, juicy, & bursting with flavor. The shrimp & pork combo was perfectly balanced, with the chives adding that subtle aromatic kick. The dumpling skin was the right thickness, holding the filling together without overpowering the bite. Absolute perfection! Now, onto the Chef's Special. Unfortunately, this one didn't live up to the name. While the dumplings were good, they lacked the wow factor I was expecting, especially compared to the shrimp dumplings. The flavors were a bit muted, & I kept wishing for that extra pop that never came. A bonus point? They accept cashless payments, which makes the whole experience more convenient! Pro tip: Stick with the classics here-they're classics for a reason. The shrimp, pork, & chive dumplings are definitely worth the trip. Pair them with their house-made dipping sauce, & you're in for a treat. Overall, Qing Hua Dumpling delivers on quality & freshness, but some dishes shine brighter than others. Highlight: Shrimp, Pork, & Chive Dumplings Would I come back? For those shrimp dumplings? 100% yes!View more
Great service & we were seated fast as big group with no reservation. Delicious soup dumplings & there were a good amount in each portion. Shrimp pork & scallop dumplings were excellent. The peanut butter pork dumplings were also great. So many options & looking forward to coming again.View more
It was cold & rainy today so what a perfect time to have a wonton soup & dumplings. The soup was good but a bit oily for me, however the shrimp dumplings on the soup were so tiny hahaha. I also got the dumplings surprise which they say have a minimum of five varieties on their menu. I'm pretty sure I got the chicken & corn, shrimp & the rest I wasn't too sure but nonetheless they were all very yummy. I grew up in Asia, ate lots of dumplings & I would say this place makes one of the best dumplings I've eaten in my life! The wrapper of each dumplings was just perfect for me (not too thick & not too thin). Each of the dumpling is bite size pieces & they're easy to pick up with chopsticks/spoon.View more
Best dumpling in Montreal & fantastic service. I order steam pork shrimp leek dumplings. It is very juicy, fired dumplings is very crispy, & price is reasonable. I love this place. If I have the chance I will definitely come again.View more
This place has never let us down. It's hands down one of the best dumpling spots we've ever found, & we keep coming back for more. Even during peak hours, when there's often a wait, the staff is incredibly thoughtful. They make sure you're seated as quickly as possible based on the size of your group, though larger parties might need a bit more patience. We've tasted their shrimp soup & hot & sour soup, & both were delicious. They also serve some truly authentic spring rolls. As for the dumplings, we've tried both steamed & pan-fried, but the steamed ones have won our hearts. Our all-time favorites are the chicken coriander & curry chicken dumplings. If you can't decide between steamed & fried, you can even get a half-&-half order for just 50 cents extra. If you find yourself downtown or near Chinatown, do yourself a favor & give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.View more
Delish dumpling spot, really fast & friendly service- we were in a rush so they offered to serve our food directly in to go boxes. Lamb & coriander fried dumplings slapped, my mom got the shrimp leek & egg ones & said they were delicious.View more
I've visited this amazing place several times, & it never disappoints. I can't resist sharing the joy with others; I've probably brought over 20 different friends already, & each time has been fantastic. It's easily the best restaurant I've tried in Chinatown, & I'm particularly enamored with their pork & shrimp dishes. The flavors are simply irresistible - a true culinary delight.View more
Fairly loud place even though the restaurant was not full, maybe people were just very loud while we were there...? Not the type of atmosphere that would make you want to hang around. The peanut butter dumplings were ok but a very small portion, not really appropriate for sharing unless you just want a bite to taste. We ordered 2 mixed baskets of 15 dumplings, the pork & green onions, the shrimp leek & egg were tasty but the chicken & corn were not good, the pork & pickled cabbage were average. Maybe others are tastier, but we could not know which ones. We tried to get advice from our server, but she was not too convincing on the popular ones to recommend... Definitely an inexpensive meal including tips: $42.94 It is ok for a quick bite, but there are other dumplings places in town which could possibly offer a better quality dumplingsView more

Simple yet efficient ! The true nature of your dumplings are revealed when you take your first mouthful & get to enjoy the broth that steamed inside . Some of my top pick are : pork & coriander, lamb & aneth, leek shrimp & egg & the last one curry beef ! Lunch time is almost always full during the weekday so be early or late if you're a big group ! Enjoy !View more
Situated in the heart of the Montreal Chinatown, which is a 10-15 mins walk from the historic Montreal (ideal). We went on a weekend so there was a waiting line (we didn’t have to wait more than 10 mins as its a fast serving & moving restaurant). The fantastic thing is; you get 15 medium sized dumplings for an extremely reasonable price, which were yummy so an all round great place. We had the 1) shrimp, leek & egg dumplings & the 2) cabbage, vermicelli & mushroom dumplings, which were both great! The service was fast & friendly. Parking is available around the neighbourhood but wasn’t easy to find so recommend using the Metro, taxi, walking, etc. Great job! Can’t wait to revisit again!View more
Real rating 4.5/5
Food was real good, we had steamed lamb & coriander, pan fried shrimp pork & leek, as well as peanut noodles.
Service was a bit slow at first, menus took some time to get here, & it was quite busy so somewhat understandable. Found a hair in the noodles, we ate it anyway, & when we told the waitress, the manager came shortly after to apologize & offered the noodles & my beer on the house.
To offer the noodles on the house, that’s expected. To offer the beer on the house, that’s going above expectations, hence the 5 star rating.
All that to say, I’d go back!View more
VERY BAD PLACE!! DON'T GO THERE. First of all, me & my girlfriend are very patient & we understand lot of problems since we both work in customer service & study business. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:55 & got seated right away. Right away, we didn't like our table because of a group of 4 people screaming near us. Also, we were put in table for 6 people with half of it already taken. Then, we had to ask the server 2 times to take our order. After 25 minutes, she took our order. She also had the time to receive an order of 2 jugs of beer 10 minutes from each appart & serve it. We assume we would get the food quickly as the table of screaming monkeys got 60 dumplings in less then 15 minutes & we ordered 30. 20 minutes later, she comes back to us saying that half of our order wasnt possible due to lack of stock. No prob, but she should know before asking us what we want. Lack of communication. She puts back our order in the last spot (she should of put it back where it was in the order, how dump is that) Now, there were people that came in 20-30 minutes after us, that started to receive their food. After waiting for another 30 minutes, we had to complain at the cashier that it has been 50 minutes & nothing yet for us while people there 20-30 minutes after us are almost done eating. She cames back 5 minutes later saying that every thing will be ready in 6 minutes. LIE. Half of it came in after 12 minutes (They were on the clock). Food came in. IT WAS BARELY COOKED PROPERLY. Shrimps inside were transparent (meaning not cook) & the skin of the dumplings were still half frozen. To sum up, cashier wasn't even respectful enough to ask me where I sat & tell me the amount to pay. First time I've left no tip at a restaurant. We got out at 10 pm very mad.As we left. there were 5 people waiting in line. when clearly there were enough (emptied) tables to accommodate.
