potatoe(15) breakfast(15) brunch(10) pancake(8) lunch(7) vibe(7) booth(7) deli(6) kid(6) recommend(5) huevos(5) rancheros(5)Great honestly! Just don't get the huevos rancheros (really glad that they have them at all, by the way) because the actual diner food looked so much better. Those potatoes were spectacular though
old diner vibe.. our food was not hot when it came to our table so we told the waitress who immediately offered to reheat them but we were a bit pressed for time & declined
later she came to tell us that she would give us a 25% discount because of the food temperature... she was real pro-active & just that gesture is a guarantee we will return
as for the food, we had breakfast & apart from needing to be hotter, it tasted good
Not sure if this in other comments & that's on me for not checking. However, you'd think that a place open for breakfast during the day would have high chairs available or at least a booster with straps. I had to use my sweater to tie my toddler to the booster. The food & Caesar were also pretty bland especially for the price. Cost me around $70 because there was no real'kids' items & got'bunny butt pancakes'. Will not return.
The best place for breakfast & lunch,
The food, the service & the atmosphere- 10/10.
Make sure to just go & try out the place at least before leaving a review, as I saw a lot of reviews were under the influence of some Karen that didn't had her way.
But in general best place in town
Great great great diner. Absolutely recommend stopping in for lunch. We tried the braised beef Benny, chicken & cakes, mother clucker, & carrot cake pancake. Carrot cake pancake was probably the greatest pancake I've ever had in my life. Service is great & food is better, don't miss this place.
I have no words, this place makes the most incredible brunch dishes I've seen (or should I say, tasted) !
What I like about this place is the homey vibes to it. The West Island has too many big chains or big restaurants but this one's different. The French toast was different: more like a fluffy Japanese pancake but amaze.
One of the dishes was undercooked, which is unacceptable. We informed the staff, & although they replaced it, there was no apology from management. Food safety should be a priority.
IF YOU HAVE KIDS - SKIP THIS PLACE. NO HIGH CHAIRS NO CHANGING TABLES.
I have always loved this place, food is incredible but if you have kids I would skip it. From the sign that says no strollers (which I can understand because the place is small) but then when I came in with my 3 year old & 8 month old not even thinking twice that of course they would have a high chair.. NOPE not one all they have is ONE'booster' that has zero attachments. Luckily I had my own booster in the car. It's surprising to me that a family run restaurant or restaurant in general wouldn't try even a little to accommodate families. Might as well put a sign outside that says no kids allowed. We had originally sat in a booth with the loose booster my baby almost fell under the table then I said ok I'll just hold her but the booths are so tight she was squished. I realized I had my booster in my car so I asked if we could switch to another table in the back with chairs.. the man at the front was seemingly annoyed (maybe I was just being sensitive because I was so extremely flustered but now after reading all the other reviews about kids & having a negative experience I must have been picking up on something) I then began transferring all my stuff to the other table (alone with two kids it took a few trips) no one offered to help me.. my baby with one sock (the other had fallen under the table I gave up on trying to get it) & my toddler almost in tears (I wasn't far behind) I don't know if I'll go back certainly not with my kids. You are in the hospitality business.. from what I read the owner says it's not a play ground which I agree. We were not bothering anyone I made sure my daughter didn't climb on the booths didn't touch the mirror & cleaned up after myself as best I could when I was done. I don't know there needs to be a middle ground somewhere or just make your establishment adults only ? Or at least make it visible online that you don't accommodate young children? Just an idea!
