Absolutely delightful & memorable brunch experience at Pointe Claire Deli! The joint is cozy, well lit & simply a feel-good spot. We got the raspberry tiramisu mascarpone pancake, the fried chicken & hot cakes plate ( comes with green onion cheesy pancakes & some delicious spicy maple sauce ), a side of bacon & the mother clucker brioche bun sandwich. Both coffee-cocktails were delicious. Everything was so good & flavourful ! Portions were super generous & every dish had a lovely presentation. Our server, Sara, was kind & friendly, a big ray of sunshine ! She's killing it :) Cannot wait to come back & try more of their super extensive menu.
Went there for lunch yesterday around 11h45 for lunch. Place was full but there was no waiting. Waitress 5/5. Ticket time a little long but worth it.
My husband had fried chicken & eggs. I had sime kind of hamburger with bacon tomato mayo with yellow sweet buns. It was delicious. Just can't remember the name. Smashed potatoes, different but tasty.
Things to fine tune: learn how to present the food. When it arrived, our plates looked unattractive & unappealing.
Would def go back.
The place needs an overall lift, it looks neglected.
Food & service 5 ⭐?
Also, not wheelchair friendly/access or bathroom.
Lots of parking

I'm disappointed to leave this review as the Pointe-Claire Deli is one of the only places in Valois to go for a sit down meal. However, as a new mom, the no stroller rule is rough. I understand that it's a tight fit, but it makes it hard to go there with a baby, & I think the owners intended for that. It's also not breastfeeding friendly as the booths are too small. The table is too close to the body. Therefore, it's also not accessible to people in bigger bodies. Finally, there is no change table option in either of the bathrooms. I do like the food very much & the relaxed vibe. The servers have always been attentive. But I just feel it's not mom/ family friendly.
I've been hesitant to write this review for a long time, because I really wanted to love this place. I've been going to the Pointe-Claire Deli since before the new owners bought it during Covid, & I was genuinely excited to see it given new life. The decor & vibe inside are lovely… cozy, bright, & full of potential.
That being said, over time the place has become increasingly unwelcoming. The prices have gone up quite a bit, & while I was surprised when they removed the free coffee with breakfast, I shrugged it off. Then the high chairs for kids disappeared, which was explained as a safety issue. Again, not the end of the world. But when I brought a friend with a toddler who had never been before, she was taken aback by the sign in the window saying'loud kids must be escorted out.' I completely understand wanting a peaceful dining environment, but the tone of the message felt unnecessarily harsh. I was embarrassed that I'd recommended the place to her, because it just didn't feel friendly. Still, that wasn't enough to stop me from returning.
Unfortunately, what has finally made me stop going is the attitude & customer service. The younger staff are always kind, polite, & accommodating, truly a pleasure. But whenever the woman I believe to be the owner is working, I instantly regret sitting down. She is consistently curt, avoids eye contact, & gives off the impression that customers are a bother.
To give a few examples: my table of five once asked for ketchup & received one tiny paper - barely bigger than what you'd get at a fast food place. Another time we asked for water for everyone, & only two glasses were brought. On my last visit, there was a piece of paper still attached to the slice of cheese in my burrito. I didn't mention it because she was so unapproachable, but I left it on my plate thinking she might at least acknowledge it when clearing the table… she didn't.
After dozens of visits, I've decided I won't be going back, simply because I don't feel welcome. It's such a shame, because it's one of the only spots in Valois that doesn't have that friendly, neighborhood warmth. When the younger staff are running things, the place feels completely different; relaxed, pleasant, & inviting. They're wonderful & deserve credit. I truly wish them all the best in the future.
10/10 experience with the Pointe Claire Deli! The staff is truly incredible & the food is genuinely the best around. I don't have a single negative thing to say about this place. The atmosphere & seating were also incredible.
I went to the Pointe-Claire Deli the other day & had the best sandwich I have ever had in my life. Seriously. It is called the Philly grilled cheese, a scrumptious mix of braised beef, Swiss cheese, peppers (I asked for no green ones), & onions on sourdough bread. There was a sauce too. It was served with the crispiest home-fried potatoes, ever. My friend had an Avo & Pico benedict that she really enjoyed. Service was super friendly. I liked the atmosphere. The place is very clean. The new owners kept the same booth seating as the restaurant had for years, which was comfortable. The music was chill. Overall, a great dining experience. Looking forward to returning soon. Note that the sandwich I ordered is available as part of the lunch menu, which starts at 11.00. Breakfast is served until closing.

Nice experience at this Deli Pointe-Claire. The food was fresh & tasty, full of great flavor. The service was welcoming & attentive, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was relaxed & comfortable, perfect for sitting down & enjoying good food. Overall, it's a great spot that I'd be happy to recommend & visit again.
I've been to the deli maybe a dozen time in the past few years. Since having a baby, I was disappointed with their service. We were 4 adults & my 13 month old (super calm), we were told we had a 20 min wait, that's fine. However we were asked to wait outside (even if in May it was quite cold). There was a booth with a friend of mine that was about to leave & we weren't able to stay there & at the bar to wait for a place to open up (no one else was waiting for a table at the time). I've loved my time spent at the deli in the past, but will not be coming back after this experience.
Very pleasantly surprised by the food - delicious!!! Friendly service, even though we arrived minutes before the kitchen closed. Will definitely make this a regular stop when we come from Alexandria (Ontario) to pick someone up at the airport.
