Found this nice warm pizzeria in Mile End after a party close by. Friendly service, good wines, & excellent food. I particularly liked the meatballs (polpetta). Recommended!
I was super happy with Magpie. I normally hate tomato based sauce but the meatball appetizer is something out of heaven. The pizzas are also perfection!

Great ambiance, friendly staff. Although the waiter brought our beer cans in our glasses, I wouldn't think the bottom of the can is clean enough to be putting inside the glass. We had to wipe our glasses. Our meatballs were a bit too raw in the middle, we tried to eat it, but it was getting unappetizing. We got the burrata salad, on the menu (on the wall above the kitchen), it didnt mention there were nuts in the dish & we came across some, our waiter had to ask several people what type of nut it was, my partner is allergic to almonds so it was a concern, they were cashews. Focaccia was nice.
They seem to have changed the chef & their food is phenomenal. Meatballs were great, the paccheri bolognese was exceptional & the pizza dough & sauce were absolutely fantastic. Bravo chef. The service was quick, friendly & professional. Looking forward to the next time.
Meatball Pizza/ Sauce, Mozzarella, Homemade Meatballs, Mushrooms, Parsley 🍕 First Pizza of the new year coming in hot from @pizzeriamagpie & I have to say it's a banger. First time trying this spot with my buddy & everything was a hit. We got two pies that day which were the meatball style you see here & the Almonds 3 cheese. I love the decor of this spot, really gives you a feel of a old school resto with the decorative chilling designs out of what looks like a material resembling copper. The atmosphere I could tell at night when the lights come down almost feels like a old school drinkery. The first Pizza I got was the Meatball, absolutely loved it. I've never had parsley on a pizza before & honestly I can't imagine whilingly adding it in my own but truthfully it did add something to it. The meatballs were delicious & tender, the sauce was on point & the crust & dough itself was amazing a solid 9/10 for what I like to see. The almond Pizza is one that my buddy choose. Again not one I'd go out of my way to order on my own otherwise but I'm happy he picked it. 3 cheese from gruyere, ricotta & Mozzarella, toasted almonds with salt & spicy honey. Really a fun combination that just works honestly. Have to give them a try this new year they really make a great product & fun date night spot.
Authentic delicious pizza, we had the meatballs as entrees & Caesar salad, both are really good. service was great & friendly. Definitely recommend it.
We had the best meal at Magpie tonight!!! We have had many other very good meals there, so when things freed up at the last minute, we thought Magpie would be the place to go! We definitely chose the perfect place:) We ordered the meatballs & the pepperoni pizza--both were awesome. The ambiance is always great--perfect for couples, families & a group of friends. By far the best part of our meal though was our server Alex!! She was so thoughtful & helpful. She paid attention to details that made our meal that much more outstanding. She was absolutely the best!!:) We would love to go back to Magpie whenever we have the chance--phenomenal pizza, beautiful ambiance, & the best servers! Thanks for a very special night:):):)
We recently dined in this neighbourhood pizzeria, we enjoyed the fresh atmosphere & local flavour of clientele. Greeted quickly & shown our table & were served by enthusiastic waitress . Meatball & meat pasta dish were very good although the pasta was the best , we selected 2 pizza & shared both toppings fresh , the pizza dow is more like a crusty Italian bread not as moist ex ; Napoilitaine pizza taste so for myself bit disappointed but my friends enjoyed & no qualms. We choice opening price wine $42 was suitable with pizza !
