Definitely has great value for the price! We tried the jerk chicken with coleslaw & curry goat with macaroni - both amazing & such great flavour ! The jerk chicken with an added gravy & again so delicious !! The added the festival & plantain was a great compliment! Highly recommend & we will definitely be back again!
Amazing food curry goat top notch chicken jerk awesome very fresh chicken was succulent rice & peas very fresh festivals super good macaroni salad nice sweet & spicey very satisfied & highly recommend best in West Island can't wait to go back & it will be soon
Very mid Jamaican food. The chicken was cooked well. The plantain & coleslaw were very good. The jerk sauce is disappointing. No heat, it tastes like something you would buy out of a glass jar at the grocery store. The rice was bland & the festival was tasteless & dense. The patties were average at best. Jamaican food for white people.
The vibe inside seemed off. Employees were bickering with each other. I came to pick up an order & could recite who it was for & what was included but they made me contact my wife who ordered it to send me a screenshot of the receipt. Did not get a friendly vibe from the place at all, everyone in there seemed miserable.
Hi
this is a review from the 5 crazy ladies that came today September 26th 2025 @ DDO location
we ordered the curry goat jerk chicken & the BBQ chicken everything was delicious
the plantain was also delicious the festivals were fried just right
service was amazing

we will definitely be back
just a suggestion maybe have some island sweets.😀😉😋
Food is decent for a Jamaican restaurant in Montreal. Don't really have too many complaints. The food comes with a nice assortment of sides in the combo. I did ask for curry goat gravy for the rice & they gave me some in a little cup. It was pretty laughable how little gravy they give you. It wasn't even equivalent to a regular spoonful you'd find at your typical Caribbean restaurant. The festivals were my favorite item, very delicious! But overall very good value for your money.
I ordered the small bbq jerk chicken plate & fish cakes.
Overall it was okay. The chicken was cooked nicely & fell right off the bone, but the jerk taste was lacking a bit & the bbq was on the sweeter side which I didn't love (I wonder if I should have ordered the regular jerk plate instead). The festivals were really festival-shaped dumplings but great texture & still appreciated. The gravy on the side would have been a nice touch but it didn't have a taste, so I would definitely suggest some jerk gravy instead to bring it all together!
The fish cakes were great. They didn't come with a sauce but I didn't mind.
It was a good portion size but I feel like the plate juuuust missed the mark for me. I will try the regular jerk one day to compare.
Ordered from here for the first time yesterday. Food was amazing! Jerk chicken, fish cakes, & their pepper sauce is fire!!! Plaintains & rice & peas weren't cooked as much as I like it, but still giving 5 stars for food because the rest was that good. Service was fast & friendly. Will definitely visit again.
Update: changing my review from 4 stars to 3. Have been eager to revisit this place & I have to say today I was very disappointed. I ordered the fish cakes but was not given the sauce which quite frankly is the best part. They also had quite a few bones. The festival was hard & dry, inedible. The chicken was not as good as last time. Less meat on the bones & a bit dry. Overall, felt like I was eating leftovers. Also would've preferred the coleslaw over macaroni salad. Wasn't asked which one I want & I really didn't enjoy the macaroni one unfortunately.
My husband & I recently ordered a small jerk chicken plate with oxtail gravy on the side. We've tried many Jamaican spots around Montreal, & this one really nailed the flavours. The jerk chicken was smoky (down to the bone!!!) & packed with authentic spices (& so was the oxtail gravy). A pleasant surprise was the fluffy festivals they included-def not the usual packaged kind. Wait times are to be expected. Only critique I have, I would have liked more rice .We'll definitely be ordering from here again.
Ordered the large Jerk Chicken plate, for take out. Very happy with it. Great flavour, spicy but not crazy. They gave me a couple plantations, & some festivals (fried dough). The rice with beans was good. I'd go there again, even serve it at a party, with some Pina Coladas, or Bahamas mamas.
Really impressed with the quality of the food! Ordered a large jerk chicken plate - the chicken was spicy, well seasoned & exceptionally moist & fall off the bone. Rice & peas was tasty, plantains had a great taste, the festivals (which I've never tasted before) was unexpectedly delicious, & the coleslaw brought a nice tang & was very well seasoned & added a nice texture to the meal. Overall, really impressed with the food!
Referral from my tattoo artist & The food was fire!! The festivals were perfect!! Can't wait for the next time I'm in town 💥💥💥
Wanted to go here for lunch for the longest time! It is a very small space & there is only seating for 2, so eating in the car or at home is ideal. I ordered the fried chicken with BBQ sauce. My friends got a half/half jerk chicken & oxtail & half/half curry goat & oxtail. My friends would rate their meals a 7.5. I liked my meal but it did take an extra 15 mins for my meal. There were very kind though & appreciated my patience. I absolutely loved my chicken & the festivals. The rice & mac salad were not my favourite though. PS. Don't waste money buying drinks at the restaurant, walk two doors down to the dep to get drinks!! Overall would rate this experience a 6.5/10!
Discovered & absolutely loved everything. We got to try: - Half & half plate, 1/2 Jerk Chicken, 1/2 BBQ chicken with rice & peas, macaroni salad, plantains, & festivals (delicious, deep fried slightly sweet bread). - Jerk Salmon & all the fixings - Oxtail & all the fixings - Spicy Beef Patties - Fish Cakes We loved the flavour explosions, the variety of foods, & the service!
