I've been looking for an authentic Vietnamese spot in the West Island, & Pho Binh absolutely THE BEST!!! The broth is rich, flavorful, & clearly simmered with care. Portions are generous, & everything tastes fresh, from the herbs to the perfectly cooked noodles.
I also tried the spring rolls & vermicelli dishes - both were delicious, well-seasoned, & beautifully presented. The dipping sauces are spot-on.
The service was friendly & fast, even during busy hours. The place is casual but clean & cozy, with a very relaxed vibe.
Definitely a hidden gem for anyone craving legit Vietnamese comfort food without having to drive downtown. Highly recommend if you're in West Island
Always a delicious bowl of soup. My favorite beef broth of all the pho places I've tried.
The pho broth is delicious. It's a bring your own wine so that saves money
Broth is still good as before. I have to say I still think it's the best I've had in Montreal.
However, recent changes in portion sizing are hard to ignore. Price went up a lot. As a regular customer, I was surprised to find the extra-large pho ($19) now contains nearly half the noodles it used to. The single chopstick could lift the entire noodle portion. Hopefully I am the single case, I will come back agin to give it another try.
Quantity went down & price went up in the last 6 months. Almost no meat in the soup. Broth is still very good.
Service was really good! I normally like thicker noodle so I ask to change the noodle in the pho, but they kindly suggested me that the original noodle would absorb more the flavour, & would taste better, & they weren't wrong. Taste was good, broth is good! would definitely come back, best pho & bun bo hue in west island so far. Order XL, will fill more than the L, portion are smaller.
Great food, but not adapted to delivery. Shrimp paste rolls were delicious...but you have to roll them yourself which I wasn't prepared for. Pho was great, but it doesn't come with a container with enough room to eat the ingredients & broth together, so I had to find a big bowl myself.
The pho broth was decent, but very little meat in the bowl. For the first time ever, I finished a pho & was still hungry.
So being vietnamese, pho is simply a stable in our culture. Montreal does have quite a bit of competition in terms of pho restaurants. That being said, we bought some pho for dinner expecting just another week night meal being checked off. I was proven wrong within the first slurp of their broth. Flavourful, complex & rich. I devoured my bowl within a few minutes, lifting my head every once in a while, only to attend to my basic need of breathing. This place is your quintessential family-run vietnamese restaurant. A must try if you are in the area, & like vietnamese food. We would be happy to add them as part of our restaurant routine going forward.
We used to go there very often before covid. However we kind of forgot about this spot recently. Yesterday I had a craving for pho & I went by myself. I couldn’t believe how good it was! The meat was plentiful & delicious & the broth was just perfect! The service was quick & courteous! & the prices are unbeatable!!! Not to mention it is byow!!! I will definitely be back there very often!!!
