Review Summary

Patrons describe Patisserie St Martin as offering a rich mix of Italian pastries, sandwiches and warm drinks, with cannoli repeatedly singled out as outstanding and pizzas and sandwiches generally praised for flavor and generous fillings; the selection is broad and inviting, and the terrace overlooking Jean Talon Market is a pleasant plus for many; service is often efficient, though some note that staff could be warmer; desserts such as the fresh strawberry shortcake are enjoyed, while crème brûlée is seen as disappointing and mille-feuille as bland or salty, and there are some quibbles about online ordering, including misrepresented quantities or quality; a disappointing discount-basket experience with a third-party delivery service involved dry bread leading to regret; overall the place is viewed as a solid nearby option, with many items repeatedly praised, a willingness to return, and a sense that the extensive choices can make deciding difficult.

I really like this patisserie. The cakes, croissants, pizzas, & sweets are all very delicious. My birthday cake was a cheesecake, & it was amazing. I'll never forget the taste. Go here & enjoy the best!

Stopped by for snacks while walking around Jean Talon Market. Had a chocolate croissant & sugar cookie which were cheap & tasty but nothing special. Sugar cookies have cool designs. Wished I had a chance to also try their pizzas & sandwiches that other people rate well!

Pâtisserie Saint Martin is a delightful bakery that captures the essence of French pastry-making right in the heart of Montreal. Known for its exquisite treats & charming atmosphere, it's a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. As you step inside, the inviting aroma of freshly baked goods fills the air. The display case is a feast for the eyes, showcasing an impressive array of pastries, from delicate éclairs & flaky croissants to beautifully crafted cakes & tarts. Each item is meticulously made, reflecting the high standards of quality that Pâtisserie Saint Martin is known for. One of the highlights is their signature pastries, particularly the fruit tarts & macarons. The tarts are bursting with fresh fruit & creamy filling, while the macarons are light, airy, & come in a variety of flavors that delight the palate. Don't miss the classic French pastries like mille-feuille or the rich chocolate mousse cake-they're simply divine! The staff is friendly & knowledgeable, always ready to help you choose the perfect treat or recommend their favorites. The cozy seating area provides a lovely spot to enjoy your pastry with a cup of coffee or tea, making it a great place to relax & take in the ambiance. While the bakery can get busy, especially on weekends, the experience is well worth it. Whether you're looking for a quick snack, a special dessert, or a gift for someone sweet, Pâtisserie Saint Martin delivers with delicious offerings that never disappoint. Overall, Pâtisserie Saint Martin is a true gem in Montreal's bakery scene. A server at a restaurant in Old Montreal recommended this place when we told him we were headed there. It didn't disappoint! Four of us shared the gluten free veggie pizza & the focaccia bread with Alfredo sauce so we all had enough room to eat dessert. Oh. My. Goodness. The almond croissant was wonderful! My husband loved the carrot cake. My friend loved the coffee cream stuffed donut & the chocolate stuffed pastry. & they have frozen meals to take home, too. Come hungry!

Petite pâtisserie dans le marché Jean-Talon. Quelques places pour s'asseoir. Cependant même si nous disons que nous mangeons sur place, il donne des verres & des assiettes en carton. Les croissants étaient bon.

I have no idea if this place is a one off or a chain store. Either way at Jean Talon the staff was very pleasant & eager to assist. We ordered two iced lattes, a mortadella on focaccia bread, a chocolate croissant, & a custard eclair. The prices were very reasonable & the sandwich was very flavorful. However I have to say the pastries were the star. I rate bakeries by the chocolate croissant. Theirs was a classic in every way. My wife loves eclairs. Their custard filled eclair is now her favorite of all time. We both can't wait to go back.
