Review Summary

Patisserie Samadi & Fils is described as a beloved destination for Lebanese sweets, with a wide range of baklava, maamoul, pistachio rolls, and especially knefeh and kunefe praised for freshness and authentic flavors. Many note a bright, clean setting and a welcoming space, with some locations having undergone a makeover that impressed customers. The pastry quality is consistently highlighted as fresh and delicious, with knefeh often called the best in town and the shop a popular choice for events. Service experiences vary, with some reviews praising friendly, helpful staff while others recount unfriendly or rushed service, though a particularly courteous staff member is mentioned in one instance. Prices are sometimes described as high and parking can be challenging, and a few critiques advise checking assortments before leaving due to perceived uneven plate variety. Overall the patisserie is seen as a true gem for authentic Middle Eastern sweets, a place to grab a quick treat or gifts, though experiences can differ by location and day.

A true gem in Montreal - authentic, delicious, & unforgettable!

We had such an incredible experience at Pâtisserie Samadi & Fils on Gouin. This place is a treasure for anyone who loves traditional Middle Eastern sweets. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed with the rich aroma of fresh pastries, nuts, & warm hospitality.

We tried a wide variety of items - baklava, nammoura, maamoul, pistachio rolls, & of course, the legendary kaak with knafeh - & everything was absolutely perfect. The kaak with knafeh was especially unforgettable: warm, soft bread filled with gooey, sweet cheese knafeh & just the right touch of syrup. It's the kind of dessert that makes you stop mid-bite & smile. A must-try!

& let's talk about the Arabic coffee - smooth, rich, & perfectly spiced with cardamom. It was the perfect pairing for the sweets & honestly one of the best coffees we've had in the city.

The staff were very friendly & welcoming, & they took the time to explain the different types of pastries. The store was clean, beautifully organized, & had an amazing selection of ready-made gift boxes - perfect for any occasion.

Whether you're stopping in for a quick treat or looking to bring home authentic Arabic desserts, Pâtisserie Samadi - Gouin is the place to go. We came from the South Shore & it was more than worth the drive. Can't wait to return again soon!

I have been coming this place for years. They make the best lebanese desserts. Their ashta is always fresh. I definitely recommend the shabiyyat & kneffeh. Even the baklava at this place is so light compared to the ones they make at other places. No heavy sugars. Very light & tasty.

Great Knafeh, Baklava, & Namoura. Tasted like it came straight out of Lebanon. The real deal.

Service is excellent, decor is very nice, pastries were ok. Knefe - very good. Generous pieces, & the bread is thin with delicious sesame flavour. Halawat el Jibin - not good. Had a strange after taste. Halawat el Riz - it was ok. Baklava - it's ok, but my friend chipped a tooth because the filling had a piece of walnut shell in it. The knefe was the best part.

Samadi is one of the most famous patisserie places in Montreal & it's definitely worth it going there. Throughout the years I tried several items like kunafah, maamoul mad b 2ashta, samadeyye(da3ou2eyye), baklava... Everything tastes delicious. Today I ate kunafah, it was very good, but it used to be better, tastier.
