Food was MOSTLY very good, we weren't as happy about the most expensive cut we ordered, the ribeye which had a lot of fat on it. I'm not paying for fat, so that wasn't appreciated.
Service was fine, not stellar. Took a while for our waitress to attend to us, but she was kind. One of us ordered a martini & it came in a standard glass, & he wasn't too thrilled about that.
Not trying to be picky, just sharing our experience. Also, the lamb merguez was our least favorite. Just a fatty sausage with a very strong flavor. If you like that type of meat, have at it if course.
Last comment, the sign for the restaurant is practically invisible. It just looks like a building with a door. In case you're struggling to find it & you're looking right at it & doubting yourself. 😂
Just finished up a quick bit here & was very impressed. Admittedly I only went in to try the duck, it was some of the best I've had. Perfectly cooked over charcoal with that super crispy skin that is so often lacking. I sat at the bar & the service was great, everyone that I spoke to was amazing. It is definitely a bit on the louder side so something to be aware of if you're not into that, but I loved how lively it was. Wine selection was excellent. All in all, can't wait to bring some friends here next time we're in town, would be great to share some meat platters. Merci Papito!

We loved our late diner at this restaurant! Meat lovers I'm talking to YOU, do yourself a favour, try it! It was finger liking good ! Great generous portion, great service, love the casual atmosphere! We will definitely be back here when we return to Montreal!
All the produce was bright & fresh, really great balance, & the charcoal grilled meats gave me so much nostalgia.
The highlight for me was the heirloom tomatoes, bagel & creme cheese.
The atmosphere on the terrace was calm & warm, & the plants were beautiful. Really great place to wind down!
The service was incredible as well. Very well coordinated, & our server was really sweet. We felt right at home!
Can't wait to come back.
I visited this restaurant for the first time & boy was it delicious! From the outside, it sees like a small, quaint restaurant, but it's actually quite large & spacious inside, with an industrial feel but cozy at the same time. They have a wonderful terrace at the back in the summer. We enjoyed a lovely meal with fresh vegetables & some delicious meats of the day. Their chimichurri to accompany the meats was such a scrumptious addition. Highly recommend this gem of a place!

We had a wonderful dinner at Papito! Our waiter, Juan, was very helpful with our decision making on what to order. They have menus in English, which made it easier for us to know some of the items. But Juan described each dish in detail & gave us history of the restaurant.
We ordered asparagus as a vegetable, Pork Sausage & Lamb Chops as our mains, & the charcoal potatoes as a side. We also ordered chimichurri sauce (highly recommend).
The ambiance was immaculate. This is a great place to have a romantic dinner or a gathering of friends/colleagues. Just be aware this is more of a family-style adventure. It's ideal if you can share plates (& the bill). There are a variety of seating areas (bar, tables, inside/outside).
Our meat choices were spectacular. The lamb was medium rare (fine, but we weren't given an option for temperature). The pork sausage had a cheese inside & that was fun. The chimichurri sauce elevated the flavors so well. It was bright, fresh, & added depth to the meal.
If you're reading this, GET THE POTATOES! Yes, there are muscles, yes, it has tomatoes, it also has chorizo, & all of that together sounds chaotic, but I promise you'll enjoy them.
We didn't order any drinks so I can't say anything about that.
The taste was incredible! The portions, less so. Our server was very patient & kind & helped explain the menu to us. We were very excited for the lamb saddle from the pictures we saw online-however, when they came out, ours were small & lacking in comparison. The picture of the food almost looked embarrassing because the meat was so thin & small in quantity, despite spending well into the triple digits. This small cut alone was what brought this review from 5 to 3 stars.
On the other hand, HIGHLY recommend the spicy cucumbers. Absolutely delicious. Whatever vinaigrette-oil they are doused in is an amazing dipping sauce for meat, bread, etc. Order this for sure.
If you know how to cook meat at home there is no actually a reason to go to a restaurant specialized on meat cooking only & pay cad 125 per person. The sides are delicious though (except cauliflowers). Environment is nice & lively but a bit too noisy to be able to have a conversation on a table of more than 4 people.

Papito is my new go-to spot, let me paint you a picture. You walk in, & it's like your mom's house if she'd had a serious glow-up: warm lighting, big tables for the whole crew, & cozy nooks for secret conversations to spill some tea. The menu? Imagine your mom's classic meat, veg, & potatoes... but if your mom were Martha Stewart being perfectly perfect & your dad were Gordon Ramsey ripping the grill. & the margaritas? Better than spring break in Cancun. I'd recommend this place for anything from birthdays to'I just survived Monday' dinners. It's got everything: generous portions, prices that don't make your wallet weep, & enough options to keep even the picky eaters from complaining. The service made me feel cared for like your grandma getting you your seconds. 10/10, I'll be back with an appetite & a bib.
This place is a hidden gem that people need to stop sleeping on! All their dishes are so fresh & the meats are so good. We got the lettuce , tomatoes, eggplants & gratin. Meat wise we got the lamb, ribs, pork loin. Make sure you ask what the specials are, it changes everyday! The wine list is long & the servers give great recommendations. So glad I stumbled on this during my trip. We also got the desserts on the house which was so sweet of them 🥰 . Will definitely be coming back .
Delicious food, especially the duck meat! Love the staff's service & their suggestions! Two downsides: their cocktails are not the best, but definitely recommend their crafted beer, & there are flies in the restaurant... was quite annoying
First time at Papitos. Great atmosphere. Meat was fantastic however was disappointed that Porchetta was not available/out of stock. Expect that your meat will be mostly rare. Unfortunately I couldn't eat some of the duck & prime rib because it was so undercooked. Vegetables were disappointing, green (actually yellow?!) beans & broccoli were cold, mushrooms were undercooked & super small serving & just smothered in purée. Tomato's were fresh & delicious though.
Wow! What a pleasant discovery! We found out about the restaurant online just an hour before our meal. Shoutout to the cooks who are master of sauces! Everything was delicious! Nice cuisson on the meats, really nice, fun & tasty sides, lovely summer salad with grilled tomato vinaigrette & buttermilk. Love the attention to detail in every plate. We'll definitely come back to try other things from the menu. Lovely wine selection as well.
