Review Summary

Palais D'Ajit draws praise for authentic Indian flavors, standout dishes like butter chicken, dosa, and garlic naan, and generous portions at reasonable prices; guests highlight friendly, attentive service, a warm and cozy vibe, and the option to dine in or take out with BYOB, making it a reliable go-to in Verdun and beyond. The simple, unpretentious interior is described as welcoming, and while a few reviews note language barriers, overall the restaurant is seen as a hidden gem with consistently good food and a family-friendly atmosphere that keeps people returning.

One of the few places in Montreal that offer South Indian options like Dosa. Great value, of taste & affordability. Dine in, or take-out.

My preferred Indian restaurant in the region. One of the very few that make dosa, which are really good. Best to be eaten there because wrapping them & taking them home will lose the crispiness (but soft dosa are still good too).

Delicious food, friendly service, reasonable prices & portions, what's not to love? Also, it's the only place in Verdun that sells dosa, which is a big plus in my book. We've been twice & everything has been wonderful. Lamb & chicken are tender & juicy, the samosas are stuffed to bursting, the rice is fluffy, the raita & mango chutney are the perfect accompaniment to many of the dishes & the mango kulfi dessert is the perfect way to end your meal.

Everything on the menu is mild to moderate (at least in my opinion) in terms of heat & spice; even dishes such as the jalfrezi & vindaloo, which should be very spicy, are only moderately so. I guess (like so many other restaurants) they've had too many customers tell them to "make it spicy" only to then complain that it was too hot, so they've had to keep everything in the mild to moderate range. Having said that, if you ask for your food to be very spicy, they'll be more than happy to kick up the flavor & the heat of whatever dish you've ordered.
