About

Oorja serves a distinct culinary fusion that bridges traditional Indian spices with vibrant Chinese cooking techniques. Patrons encounter a robust menu featuring clay oven delicacies alongside wok-fired specialties that highlight bold flavors and fresh ingredients. The kitchen emphasizes high-heat preparation methods, resulting in aromatic curries and savory noodle dishes that define its unique grill-based profile. Each plate maintains a balance between the heat of classic tandoori preparations and the distinct umami profile inherent in regional Asian stir-fries. This establishment operates as a functional hub for those seeking diverse flavor profiles in a singular setting. Consistent seasoning and authentic spice blends serve as the primary focus, ensuring that every dish meets precise standards of preparation. The setting remains focused on efficient service while providing a comprehensive selection of fusion-oriented main courses and appetizers for interested guests.

Review Summary

Oorja is widely recognized as a hidden gem offering an innovative Indo-Chinese fusion menu that many diners find delicious and unique. The restaurant is frequently praised for its cozy, vibrant atmosphere and expertly crafted, seasonally rotating cocktail selection. While many guests describe the service as warm, professional, and welcoming, experiences are inconsistent, with some visitors reporting long wait times, disorganized meal pacing, and issues with portion sizes. Despite occasional feedback regarding spicy intensity levels or menu availability, the majority of patrons highly recommend the establishment for its flavorful tapas-style dishes and overall high-quality dining experience.

Cute place between two busy sections of Notre Dame. Asian fusion / tapas that you can eat quite well for not high bill. Very interesting flavours. Not many people, so it was very quiet & the staff was nice & attentive.

Un coin tranquil & cosy au Montérégie, une bonne place à passer une journée entre les amies ou avec la famille. Excellent choix de fromages. Le vin devient de mieux en mieux au fil des années

Excellent find! It was our first time trying indo-chinese fusion cuisine & let me tell you, it's excellent. The quality of food is substantially higher than the price you will pay ! Must try - & their mocktails are divine (& we are picky)

Terrible service.
We booked a table for 8, arrived but there was no staff?? We had to wait 10mn before someone showed up to show our seats!?

We got the first 2 plates after 45mn, then 10mn later 2 others & so on. So we each had to eat alone while others waited, otherwise it would have turned cold.
No excuse, no explanation, nothing.

Food was nice, but a lot of dishes indicated one out of three for spiciness, when it was really really spicy. Then another plate that was 3 out of 3, was spicy, but not much more. It would be nice to follow the spiciness menu indications.

Also, we had two kids (toddlers), they got their meal after 4 adults at our table. They were starving after more than an hour of wait.
Then, a table of four arrived (1h after us), & got their plate before our last ones. Felt like a joke.

Music was way too loud, we asked to lower it a bit, but it was not enough.

Would not recommend even if the food was nice.
