I took the medium sized bowl & was fully satisfied. I got quite lucky & didn't have to wait for a table, I recommend coming early to avoid the lineup.View more
I'm thinking about going again now that I am writing the review. Food is'calm' & hearty. We've ordered the medium sized vegetarian noodle soup, the size is HUGE, enough for two people, the noodles are chewy & delicious. For a very long time, gluten in a dish did not upset me I don't know why, my stomach was happy for the rest of the day too! Once you try it, you feel a pat on your back, like everything is going to be okay, flavor is just enough, I wouldn't recommend this dish for people who want a spiced up dish with mixed flavors though.

An absolute must try.
The classics are the soup noodles & the Dan dan. I love the jajianmeon too.
It gets super busy but they renovated & have a bigger space now. Also new bathrooms which are very clean.
You can choose your noodle shape.
It's very delicious & I strongly recommend.
Very fair price - you will be full!!!
Always lineups but trust me, worth the wait. Or go early before opening or later at night.
Casual vibe.View more
We came here for dinner & my expectations were exceeded. We got the beef noodles & they are the best I've ever had. The noodles were perfectly made & the beef was tender & juicy. The staff was friendly & kind, & the atmosphere was cozy & comfortable. The pricing was very fair as well. I would definitely recommend!View more
I'm just a tourist passing through Montreal & this is definitely a must. The place was packed but the food spoke for itself, highly recommendView more
Well, I'm writing to say the reviews are, in fact, real. This is a great spot for soup & noodles. It says it all in the name. I had a great lunch here this past week, & I'd certainly recommend it to anyone looking for great food at a good value. The portion size was insane. But the meat was quite fatty; if you're into that, then order double meat, I guess. I don't love it super fatty, but the broth & the noodles were amazing. Also, the staff was super nice & the food came quickly. Just to note, they serve no alcohol there & they have a neat grocery store down the stairs in the restaurant.View more
Tasty, heart warming soup with noodles. Highly recommend to reach there early before the place gets crowded at lunch & dinner times - wait time can be long (not fun during winters!) The broth always has the right level of spice & flavour ! After multiple visits there - each time I've walked out satisfied & wanting to go back again soon!View more
Yum,yum, yuuuuummmmmm. My friend has been urging me to go for noodles forever & because I wasn't a fan of the broth,I was reluctant & often hesitant, but the noodles I had were AMAZING!I love the fact that they make the noodles in front of you is a cherry on top.I had a large bowl full of flavour & I savored every bite. In addition, the interior design of the resto made the experience much mkre immersive.I would recommend investing!View more
Nouilles de Lan Zhou easily earns 5 stars for offering the best Chinese noodles I've ever had. From the moment I took my first bite, I was blown away by the rich & authentic flavors that transported me straight to the heart of traditional Chinese cuisine. The noodles are hand-pulled with incredible precision, creating a texture that is both perfectly chewy & tender, a hallmark of genuine craftsmanship. The broth & seasoning were equally impressive, with layers of flavors that were complex yet balanced, providing a truly memorable dining experience. The variety of noodle dishes on the menu is remarkable, catering to both adventurous eaters & those who prefer more familiar tastes. The restaurant itself boasts a warm & inviting atmosphere, making it the perfect place to enjoy a comforting meal. The staff were attentive & knowledgeable, always ready to provide recommendations or explain the dishes with a smile. Whether you're a fan of Chinese cuisine or just looking to try something new, Nouilles de Lan Zhou is an absolute must-visit. This place redefines what authentic Chinese noodles should taste like, & I cannot recommend it enough.View more

What truly sets this noodle shop apart is the mesmerizing sight of the chefs making fresh noodles right in the window. It's not just a meal; it's a show! The homemade noodles are nothing short of incredible-chewy, flavorful, & perfectly cooked. Each dish I tried was bursting with authentic flavors that transported me straight to the heart of noodle culture. The menu offers a great variety, ensuring there's something for everyone. You know the unspoken golden rule when it comes to restaurants. If people are waiting in line, food will most probably be worth it. *Went again mid August 2025* & it was totally worth it , solid 5 in terms of taste I took the number 2. Please be ready to wait as : 1) waiting line. 2) small place. 3) they are busy. Very busy. Immensely satisfied. I had my chili oil on the side. Strongly recommend the hand pulled noodles. ( This is not a fancy sit down with lots of cushioned chairs & large tables, this is a small intimate place which delivers warm & comfort food for the soul)View more

Great authentic chinese noodle spot. Great taste & portion. Definitely recommendView more
When you see people lined up for noodle soup at 83F, you know this place is legit. This place serves good hand-pulled noodles & the service was pretty quick. The place itself is small & divided into 2 seating sections. I recommend coming here early especially if you have a big group. They have 7 types of noodles & number 7 is the most favorite one. The noodles are chewy, not too thick, & slurping good! The highly recommended noodle soup has a clear, fresh broth & tender meat. It's so good! & their dandan noodles is also superb although not spicy enough if you enjoy spicy food.View more
This place is really good! We've eaten there twice in the past week & will probably go again before we leave Montreal at the end of the month. Highly recommend!View more
The dan dan noodles & the other dish in the pictures are a must get. The small size is the best way to share & try more stuff & trust me the portions are still large for a small size. The interior is extremely cramped & is really hot. The bathroom is a totally different story. One of the nicest, sleekest, most modern bathrooms I have ever seen. Why is the bathroom better than the dining area of this restaurant? I would definitely recommend to take-out your food & eat it at a public table nearby. The experience of waiting in the long line to get in with the hot air exhaust in your face & the cramped & a little less hot inside seating is not worth the noddle, alrhough they are homemade chewy & delicious.View more
I recommend the Dandan bowl of noodles. It's the most flavourful dish. The soups are ok. They offer a combo. Main, one side & a tea egg. This puts u under 20$. The spicy cucumber salad was very good. So were the edamame. We felt rushed to order not quite understanding the option. Service is quick with a high turnover as there is always a queue outside. No a/c here.View more
The food is fresh & good Waiting is long, terrible service, hygiene is average Impossible to sit in in the summer because if the heat, no air conditioning Not recommend at allView more
Probably the most popular restaurant of Montreal's Chinatown. Lan Zhou Noodles has been a staple of hand-pulled noodles for many years. I suggest ordering the original noodles with medium sized noodles. Beware the portions are very big (even a small is filling!). The line is very long, so I recommend coming in at odd-hours. P.s. you can even visit the grocery store downstairs!View more
Come here earlier to avoid the long line. We got here at around 11:45am & waited for 15 mins before getting seated on a Sunday. Quite hot in the resto as they don't have AC but service is quick. We ordered the dan dan, Lanzhou & Zhajiangmian. Highly recommend the dan dan noodles. It was very well flavoured & not too spicy. Zhajiangmian was a bit too salty for my liking. Overall really good noodles! Would come again.View more
We only tried this because we saw a long line on our way to somewhere else around 9 11AM. We came here for dinner & had to wait around 30 minutes to get seated - it was around 4:30ish but the line was still so long. I ordered the beef soup with the #2 type of noodle, spicy, medium size - it was a HUGE serving so if you have a small appetite I would recommend a small or you can divide the medium with someone else who has a small appetite. Go for large if you're with two other people. It wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be. I love the soup & the I absolutely LOVED the beef. The service was fast as well. Come here when you're willing to wait. It's worth it. What I didn't appreciate though is when we had to pay, the woman was looking at us while we're doing the payment process - would be nice if we got a little privacy as it is sensitive information.View more
Dan Dan noodle is the best here. I tried the broth options but nothing came close to the Dan Dan noodles. The food is always fresh & delicious. They increased their seating capacity in recent years, but there is still a big waiting line when you are at the peak hours. Recommended to go there early or during odd hours if you are a big group. Perfect for groups of 2 or 4 whenever. They have a lot of sizes for their noodles & they make it on the spot. Service is average, they seat you, take your order & that's pretty much it, it'll be hard getting water refills if you don't catch their attention. The ambiance is nice but quite loud when there are a lot of people. You also have to get up & go pay at the machine, some people don't know that & wait at their table lol. Overall I recommend giving the Dan Dan noodle a try at least once if you're in Montreal, I'd give more than 5 stars for food if I could, which is why I'm giving it an overall review of 5.View more
Not sure what all the hype is about. My medium vegetable noodle bowl was bland & lacking in flavor. Also, a minimal amount of veggies(broccoli, corn, one piece of micro sliced carrot & 2 mushrooms) didn't make it any better! The hard boiled egg was tasty. Interestingly, when I asked for soy sauce I was told it wasn't available & was only offered to use the salt shaker sitting on the counter. The edamame salad was extremely salty. Not sure if I'd ever recommend as I've had much better soups & noodle combinations in many other places. Very tight dining with an interesting Chinese grocery in the lower level.View more
It was delicious. We really liked it I definitely recommend! 😃View more
Amazing noodles! Great service & new renovated bathroom which looks very modern! I recommend ordering the ramen noodle soup!View more
First day exploring. 16 degrees F & was looking for a nice bowl of noodles & broth. Stumbled upon this noodle shop because the gentlemen in the window pulling the hand drawn noodles caught our attention. Upon walking in, there were steps into an underground Asian super market. Ambiance was great for a small noodle shop. Service was great. #6 noodles was my go to. Spice level wasn't bad, wish it was spicier. Definitely ask for vinegar to add into broth to balance out the MALA flavor. Other than that, I would recommend this spot for a nice bowl of noodles on a cold day!View more
