No AC so hot on a warm day. You pay at the front. The spicy cucumber salad was delicious as well. Recommend getting the combo. No wait on a Monday evening!View more
Some of the best hand pulled noodles I have had. There was a line & waited maybe 25 minutes for lunch at 1pm on a Monday. Two of us shared the medium beef noodle soup combo with the edamame & tea egg. It was all amazing & plenty of food. It was a hot day & there is not air conditioning. It was hot inside. No frills service.View more
There was a long line at lunch, so naturally I joined to see what's the hype. The servers are quick to seat you. (They also ask you to leave when you've paid.) I was also here during the anime convention, so it was a popular area to have lunch.
I had a seat close to the back, so it was hard to find someone to get me more water or to pay the bill. I found out that you can just go to the cashier to pay. Servers spoke French, English, & Mandarin.
I just got the traditional hand-pulled Lan Zhou beef noodle soup. The small size is $13.99; large size is $17.99. It's a big difference. I personally didn't think the noodles were that great. The texture was eh. The flavor was not really there? The beef was ok.

So I have passed by this place numerous times & finally had the chance to experience.
They have expanded the space which has reduced the line ups somewhat as they are still busy.
Tried the basic vegetable broth & vegetarian soup with thin noodles.
The broth was good but could have benefited from more umami flavour. It would have been beneficial to have some condiments on the table for those who may wish to add flavour or spice/heat. I won't go into examples as that's not the point as everyone has their own preferences.
The portion was significant as I ordered the medium size & shared with much left over. The fresh noodles were the absolute tree star of the dish & were near perfection.
Service is ok but the servers are busy running around to help everyone & as such, you're actually better off getting your own extra napkins or chip sticks etc. instead of waiting for a server. This does not seem to be the fault of the server as it's the fault of management understaffing the place.View more
Fresh noodles, tasty spicy soup. You must try it! Unfortunately no Ac.View more
Broth was extremely bland. I could have emptied a whole sachet of instant noodle seasoning into it & improved it 100%. Can't believe I paid money for it. Who are these people trying to fool?View more
The noodles are delicious & the portion sizes are huge. I'm a big eater & I wasn't able to finish the medium bowl. There was a line out the door but it does move fairly quickly.View more
Ok hand-pulled noodles spot, soup was rather bland, chilli sauce tasted similar to what you can get out of a can, seaweed potato salad was actually more memorable than the noodles however.
Good portion size for what you pay for, but otherwise skippable compared to other places in chinatownView more
Noodles shop in Chinatown always a line. Noodles come in different sizes which we didn't know. Food is OK. Noodles are like udon & very bland. It's a rush rush atmosphere, just a cheap meal 30 per persons & not 100-150. Waiters are nice. Ok to try for once or twice. You should try & judge for yourself.View more
Came here when I first got into Montreal since I was craving some noodle soup - this place certainly delivered! I ordered the spicy noodle soup, which I think was great on all fronts: noodles, broth, & beef were all excellent. While the shop is quite small, service is quite fast so you really aren't waiting around for long at all. If you're looking for a quick, no frills lunch/dinner in Chinatown, this is the place to do it.View more
View more
Absolutely fantastic. Do it, even if you're not sure what to order. The staff will guide you through & it will be best bowl of noodles of your life. Unless you are ravenous get the small; portions are appropriately huge.View more
fast, affordable, & delicious. wish i could eat dan dan noodles everyday. we didn't have an issue with tipping like other reviewers mentioned…in canada, tipping servers is a common courtesy.View more
I'm thinking about going again now that I am writing the review. Food is'calm' & hearty. We've ordered the medium sized vegetarian noodle soup, the size is HUGE, enough for two people, the noodles are chewy & delicious. For a very long time, gluten in a dish did not upset me I don't know why, my stomach was happy for the rest of the day too! Once you try it, you feel a pat on your back, like everything is going to be okay, flavor is just enough, I wouldn't recommend this dish for people who want a spiced up dish with mixed flavors though.
10/10View more
Really lives up to the hype. Was craving Ramen Noodles, but the Lan Zhou noodles were better than any Ramen ive ever had. Perfect 10/10.View more
MOST DO IN CHINATOWN MONTREAL, best Chinese noodles ever, best service, super fast, every time I have a connection in Montreal I leave the airport to go running, my favourite food so far in Montreal!!!View more
Found this gem of a restaurant. The line was fairly long outside but it moves quickly. I tried the DanDan Noodles, it was delicious. I like it a little more spicy than it's served, fortunately there is a good sized jar of spicy chili paste on the table. Added a good amount of it, & the dish was perfect. Very happy to have eaten here.View more
Absolutely incredible noodles, & they give huge portions too! The place is pretty small so it might be very busy & packed though.View more
The noodle soup was quite salty & meat is thin. It was disappointing that some of the noodles was still undercooked.View more
An absolute must try.
The classics are the soup noodles & the Dan dan. I love the jajianmeon too.
It gets super busy but they renovated & have a bigger space now. Also new bathrooms which are very clean.
You can choose your noodle shape.
It's very delicious & I strongly recommend.
Very fair price - you will be full!!!
Always lineups but trust me, worth the wait. Or go early before opening or later at night.
Casual vibe.View more
It was fun watching them pull the noodles. I took a medium beef combo with tea egg & edamame with no 3 noodles. Tasty broth & beef.. there is a small market in the basement l..View more
My all time favourite noodles place. High chance to get a table fast if you're table for 1. If not you gotta wait around 10-30 mins but it is definitely worth it for summer session. The price is affordable, you can choose your own noodles size with no extra charge which I love the most 😍The employees are very fast & efficient, they dont talk much but you can still feel they got friendly attitude 😊View more
This place is a gem! They only have a few options, but could completely satisfy your needs! We ordered beef noodle soup, Dan Dan noodle, & portions were big! They were packed by the time we left, but it was worth the wait.View more
Authentic Lanzhou stretched beef noodle. A rare find in North America.View more
We came here for dinner & my expectations were exceeded. We got the beef noodles & they are the best I've ever had. The noodles were perfectly made & the beef was tender & juicy. The staff was friendly & kind, & the atmosphere was cozy & comfortable. The pricing was very fair as well. I would definitely recommend!View more
This place always has a lineup for a reason, really had an awesome meal. The'large' size portion is 100% too much for 1 person, it can feed 2 to 3 people. Either share a large portion or get a small or medium. Also with the different types of noodles, the'thinner' ones are probably a better pick. The place gets a little less busy at around 4 pm ish.View more
The noodles here are delicious. I love watching the chef skillfully pull & shape the fresh noodles right in the kitchen & cook them directly. I chose a small combo size with noodles number 5, because it included 1 egg & 3 types of salad to choose from. It helped me eat just enough & not be too full. You can choose from non-spicy to very spicy from the waiter. The staff here are very enthusiastic in guiding you. The restaurant is located right in Chinatown, so it is very crowded & bustling. You will see a long line of people waiting for a seat. You should come earlier than lunch or dinner time to get a seat more easily.View more
The noodles are freshly made, the soup with beef was really good, they can definitely make the broth more flavorful, the portions are super big, & they are recommended 👌View more
