Updated: Prices has obviously done up but still a place to dine.
We stumbled upon this joint. Located on top of a grocery, it's a very small spot with limited seating; worth the wait. The beef soup was flavourful, spicy, but not too salty. We ordered the cold beef with chilli sauce for appetizer; which was surprisingly really good. Cost for both items was less than $20, we will definitely come back.View more

Came here when I first got into Montreal since I was craving some noodle soup - this place certainly delivered! I ordered the spicy noodle soup, which I think was great on all fronts: noodles, broth, & beef were all excellent. While the shop is quite small, service is quite fast so you really aren't waiting around for long at all. If you're looking for a quick, no frills lunch/dinner in Chinatown, this is the place to do it.View more

We came here for dinner & my expectations were exceeded. We got the beef noodles & they are the best I've ever had. The noodles were perfectly made & the beef was tender & juicy. The staff was friendly & kind, & the atmosphere was cozy & comfortable. The pricing was very fair as well. I would definitely recommend!View more

We tried this popular place for the first time in Feb 2025.
It is very busy & you can see them making the noddles by hand as you wait for a table.
Their menu is simple. It's either beef or pork with different types of noodles.
The dan dan was like an oriental spaghetti with a little kick of spice. We also had the beef bowl with thick #4 noodles.
I found the broth to be very tasty & beef tender but I found the noodles to be a bit chewy... i may try a different option next time.
All in all for the price it was a good lunch & the staff was polite & fast. I gave it 4 stars because I wasn't wowed by the meal I had but it was good.

Went to this shop on a whim, intended to try their famous braised beef tendon noodle but sold out. Opted for the traditional Lanzhou beef noodle, the noodle thickness to SanXi (thin), minimal spiciness (to adjust later if needed). It was good, the broth's clarity & the rich beef flavor attested its authenticity, the hand-pulled noodle had a unique texture of chewiness & smooth sets them apart from other types of noodles. They stowed the party of one along the wall, each facing it & the seating was tight, I had to slurp my noodles cautiously, ensuring I didn't splash the people seated next to me.View more

IMO, this place is over hyped. The 4 of us waited for almost an hour to be seated. Several times the waiters picked the people who were behind us & seated them first because they had fewer people in the party. So the wait time is very unpredictable. The food options are limited. You can pick from 6 different noodle styles but the broth options are pretty much ether beef or vegetable. & if you pick beef, you don't get any vegetables except for a few slices of scallions & some parsley. They use chili oil liberally &, as you go through the broth, the oil clogs the noodles making them greasy & unpleasant to eat. A little bok choy & bean sprouts would really help cut the greasiness. The beef & the broth itself were tasty & the portions are huge.View more

Can't beat freshly pulled noodles. This place has gotten more & more popular in the past several years. They have a limited menu, which is great. The main theme is freshly hand pulled noodles. You can't go wrong with the traditional clear broth beef noodle here. If you want to try something slightly different they also make Dandan noodles & Zhajiang noodles. This is with the same noodle but instead of beef broth you get a topping of ground pork sauce or black bean sauce. I had both & both are good! You can customize the thickness of your noodles when ordering. This is great in catering to difference preferences. Since this place is getting more popular you should expect some wait if you come at meal time. But the wait is worth it. Service is prompt & efficient.View more

I ordered the noodles with beef. The flavor is not something out of the world. It is okayish. Service was fast & good, I cant complain about that. The place was not crowded so I got seated very fast. I think needs more flavor, it is good only. Maybe you can have something similar in a different place.View more

One of the coolest things about this noodle shop is watching the chefs craft fresh noodles right in front of you-it's such a mesmerizing sight! The noodles are chewy, flavorful, & cooked to perfection. The menu is packed with a great variety, so there's definitely something for everyone to enjoy. Honestly, I've had the best hand-pulled noodles here! You can pick the size of your dish, whether you want small or large, the thickness of the noodles, & even how spicy you'd like the soup. The meat is super tender, & the rich beef broth is just mouthwatering! Plus, the portions are huge & the prices are really reasonable. The service is top-notch as well! the beef tendon soup & the dan dan noodles were tasty. we expected more of tendon in the beef'tendon' soup (there were only 2 pieces) but overall the amount of meat provided was well worth the money. the broth was excellent & did not taste like they just poured MSG in it (like some chinese restaurants you can just die of thirst after a few sips of soup). the spice was just right. the service was quick & the waiter was friendly but it would have been nice to get some refills of water..& they did not come around to do that; defintely get there early (we did dinner at 5pm before lines were long). our leftovers lasted us another 2 meals - this place is a good bang for your buckView more

We ordered the Beef Dan Dan noodles & Vegetable Noodles. I had the Beef Dan Dan with the thinnest noodles, while my husband opted for the thicker number three noodles. We also enjoyed some edamame & cucumber salad. The Beef Dan Dan reminded me of Persian spaghetti but without the tomato sauce, which I absolutely loved! It had just a hint of broth, & I asked for it to be mild spicy-delicious! We both really enjoyed the edamame with the pickles; it was flavorful & satisfying. The service was quick, & the food was excellent. Overall, the high ratings reflect the restaurant's commitment to quality & service. Plus, the chairs were adorable & petite!View more

The place was busy, you can see the staff making the noodles. Service was fast. The beef broth was delicious but needs a bit more richness. Every order we got was really good & serving size was huge. Our only comment would be the spiciness, it was not as spicy as we expected, it lacks szechuan. Especially with the dan dan noodles.View more

Visit: June 2024 Long lineup, but worth the wait. Very good value for the price. The large was HUGE & I didnt expect it to be that big. The spice wasn't overpowering. The noodles, you can tell were definitely handmade, as there was a small variety in the consistency of the size of the noodles (no noodles were undercooked or anything from this, its also not a bad thing persay). I just wish there was maybe a bit more vegetables in it. I went form extremely hungry, to really stuffed by the end of it! The beef was thin, tender, & very beefy.View more

Nice place. Have vegetarian ramen option. Their appetisers are very tasty. Must try the edamame & cucumber salad. Portion size is excellent. They have vegetarian & beef, pork broth. The service is so so even when it's not busy. The most important thing of Langzhou noodle soup is disappointing, it does NOT even taste like beef soup.The radish makes it even worse. The noodle itself is Ok, but nothing special besides its chewy due to its undercooked . & the bowl they serve me for noodle soup had a huge notch on the edge, lol. I won't go there again.View more

I've heard about this place from the internet & try to visit it. It was really good. The noodle is handmade & you can choose the type of the noodle you like. The broth is also good & the portion is big. I ordered the traditional beef noodle soup big size & it was bigger than I expected. Their chili is not as hot as I expected & their beef is chewy & tender. The place is a little bit small, but there's a lineup when I visited it. Be prepare to get in a lineup especially on the weekend at dinner hour. The lineup is worth for the food itself.View more
